Springtime Stories with Dandelion Wishes

Springtime Stories with Dandelion Wishes

Hello, friends!

If you reside in the Northern Hemisphere, we hope spring is peaking its head out to say hello. Let's celebrate a fresh season with the Dandelion Wishes Collection.

Marsha Farris: Springtime Documenting

This month's Dandelion Wishes Collection is perfect for springtime documenting. I was excited to use it to create a Simple Dori layout, including a recent photo of my husband and me.
To begin the layout, I selected a spread in the Dandelion Wishes Simple Dori to use as a base for my design. I liked the springy plaid pattern in the notebook and thought the colors matched well with my photo. I love using Cocoa Daisy rub-ons and selected one that looked like watercolor to add around the edges of my picture. Next, I wanted to add some paper layers, so I folded a piece of yellow dot tissue paper from Cocoa Daisy packaging and added it behind my photo. Then, I created my title by layering a "spring" acrylic piece from the Dandelion Wishes Classified: Memory Keeping Edition over a die-cut butterfly and completed the title with puffy alphabet stickers.
For the other side of the layout, I created a flip-up using a personal-sized planner dashboard from the Dandelion Wishes Dashboard Kit and trimmed patterned paper. I created the hinge with white copy paper and machine-stitched a die-cut label to the bottom to hold down the flip. Next, I adhered a die-cut butterfly to the page, only adding adhesive to the center of the butterfly so I could lift the wings for added dimension.
I added a rub-on phrase to the die-cut label and included an additional photo and journaling on the hidden portion of the flip. I also added another die-cut butterfly and did some stamping with the stamp from the Dandelion Wishes Modern Memory Keeping Kit onto a circle die cut to complete the design.  I loved making this springtime Simple Dori spread using the Dandelion Wishes Collection.
