Kim Oedekoven: Specialty Paper Projects with Where the Sea Dreams

Enthusiastic Cocoa Daisy customers are always looking for ways to include the vellum and acetate that are in the Where the Sea Dreams Stationery Kit each month, and each month, I come up with a different idea on how to use it creatively. Where the Sea Dreams Stationery Kit is no different for me this month, when I've made a double pocket, so there is no wasted space in your traveler's notebook set up.

I trimmed both specialty papers as well as the paper packaging to the size I needed them and sewed along one long edge. Then, sewing only the top two layers this time, I sewed a top opening pocket and then a side entry one on the bottom. A notch was created for each pocket for easy grab and go of the stickers and sticky notes housed within.

Decorations to the front were quite minimal, only three stickers along the top of the bottom pocket. Then I slipped the backing board into the back pocket of my TN, which is where I needed the storage all along. To create one last feature, I took the scrap piece of acetate from trimming and sewed it right to the cover of the notebook about 2/3rd of the way down, just on the ends. This is now the new permanent home for the beautiful tags from the Where the Sea Dreams Stationery Kit.
