Simple Dori Saturday with the Elegance Blooms Collection

Simple Dori Saturday with the Elegance Blooms Collection
Hello, friends! It's "Simple Dori Saturday" and we have two awesome projects to share with you today. But before we do, let's talk about all the different ways you can use the Simple Dori Traveler Notebook. While the Simple Dori can be used as your main form of memory keeping it can also be a supplement to other memory keeping formats. You might be a pocket scrapbooker, or use a memory planner for your main memory keeping, and sometimes there are additional stories you want to tell that don‚Äôt make it into these formats. The Simple Dori is a great place for additional stories. I keep a photo box with the photos that did not make it onto my memory keeping spread or photos that have a bigger story behind them. I will pull from these photos for documenting in my Simple Dori. The Simple Dori can also be used as a journal, a planner, or it can be taken apart completely and become a paper pad that can be utilized for other projects. Splitting the Simple Dori apart allows a little more freedom, including adding the pages to a traveler's notebook you have already started. It really is a versatile little notebook.¬† Marsha has found her groove memory keeping inside the Simple Dori. ‚ÄúI love using the Simple Dori Traveler Notebook for memory keeping. The preprinted designs are a great jumping-off point for a layout. I enjoy flipping through the notebooks and letting the patterns and colors spark a layout idea or remind me of a photo or memory I want to document. The layouts come together quickly because of the small size, and the notebooks are much easier to store than large, thick albums. Today I‚Äôm sharing a layout in the Elegance Blooms Simple Dori. I love ledger paper and was excited to see this pattern in the February collection. I chose to document a black and white photo of my youngest son and me. The photo really pops against the muted colors! I backed my photo with a trimmed patterned paper and used die cuts from the Elegance Blooms Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit to embellish the page. Next, I layered two heart-shaped journaling die cuts from the Elegance Blooms Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit¬†and added the word "love" with black alpha puffy stickers from a previous kit. I typed my journaling, trimmed it into strips, and added it to the layout. A few stamped hearts with the stamp set from the Elegance Blooms Modern Memory Keeping Kit were the perfect finishing touch for the page. I included the heart-shaped pocket from the Elegance Blooms Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit on the other side of the spread. I used a black pen to trace around the edges, so the clear heart stands out from the background. A chipboard tag from the Elegance Blooms Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and a floral die cut tucked into the pocket completed the layout. I love how my Simple Dori layout turned out using the beautiful Elegance Blooms Collection!‚Äù   Are you taking time to document yourself? The Simple Dori is a perfect place to do so, as Jennie shows us here. ‚ÄúThe Simple Dori is one of the most fun parts of Cocoa Daisy. Not only that, the versatility is incredible, too. I use it for memory keeping, but I love how it can be used for documenting different things and planning, too. This week I was very drawn to this Always Love You card from the Elegance Blooms Modern Memory Keeping Kit. For some reason, it shouted self-love to me and I decided to document a recent selfie I had taken. The stickers and die cuts included in the Elegance Blooms Collection were the perfect addition to this theme. I made sure to layer the stickers with not only the pocket card but also with the die cuts, as well. This helped me create two clusters that were meaningful and eye-catching, as well.‚Äù We love our Simple Dori‚Äôs and hope you do, too! It's the perfect canvas to have fun and play with all the wonderful collection goodies.
