Tai Cortes: Self-Care Documented with the Willows Scrapbooking Kit!

Hello, my crafty friends! It’s Tai and I am back with a double-page layout featuring the Willows Scrapbooking Kit and the Willows Pocket Cards Add-on. I am enjoying the amazing illustrations of the lake and animals to welcome spring. The pocket cards are a great way to tell small stories and to keep them simple. Pocket cards help keep your designs manageable.

I always suggest starting with your favorite cards first, that way they get used and are not hoarded in our stash. For me, those were the two 4x6 cards. I loved the journaling card with the branch and the full illustrated card with the canoe and otter. Then I grow my project from there. I already had my journal card and illustrated card, so now I need a sentiment card.

The best part about working with a kit is that all the cards work together effortlessly. ‘Sunny with a chance of smiles’ was the keeper to accompany my layout. Recently, I did a little self-care lunch break at a local plant nursery and walked around. I can get lost amongst the colors and the smells of all the flowers and plants. I have learned that Pothos and Aglonema are plants I cannot kill, so I selected a ‘Ruby’ Aglonema for my next house plant. She has big bold red ribboned leaves and I love her.

I printed my 2 3x4 photos on a 4x6 photo cut in half to fill my pocket page. I selected another illustration card for the last opening. I love to embellish the cards further so each one receives a chipboard element, an enamel dot, or a wood veneer. This is always my favorite part, to use all the tiny embellishments to dress up my layout further.
