Pretty Poppies for Beautiful Memory Keeping Designs

Pretty Poppies for Beautiful Memory Keeping Designs
Hello, Friends! The Poppy Fields Collections is filled with the beautiful artwork of Olga Cuttel and is a perfect mix of bold colors with soft details. To highlight Olga‚Äôs designs, we are focusing today‚Äôs post on the stunning Poppies and florals she created. First, we have a Simple Dori spread from Jil, documenting her own artistic process. Just by chance, I had the perfect photo for the poppies theme--these are actually anemones, but they are poppy-colored and fit right in with the pretty floral papers and die cuts in the Poppy Fields Collection.¬†I've been practicing watercolor in March, and it was fun to document this activity. Beneath my photo, I layered washi tape and papers from the Poppy Fields Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit, and then I wrote my journaling alongside a small sticker from the sticker kit. Also from that kit, the green alphabet stickers spell out the name of my flower. For the facing page, I die-cut "Flower Practice" for a title, using card-stock, which I distressed, and the poppy paper (notice the adorable poppy in the center of the "o"?). I included one of the sentiment cards from this Poppy Fields Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit, which was just perfect for the 100-Day Project because we count day one, day two . . . up to day 100! I included a little of the washi tape (which looks like a paint palette) on this side, too. I love the marbled blue paper, and I used some blue glitter dots on the facing page. They, along with the sticker and washi, balance the layout by bringing the blue to the left side, too. I couldn't resist adding a flower sequin from my stash and a few flower stickers. The poppy elements in the kit are so pretty. Have fun using them to celebrate spring! Don't you love when your kit inspires the perfect memory-keeping spread like Jil's layout here? We love the mix of pattern, texture and color that makes the poppies on the page really pop!   Carol‚Äôs layout is poppy perfection, documenting a garden party theme for her daughter. Celebrating all things ‚ÄúPoppies‚Äù with this birthday layout seemed fitting as my daughter‚Äôs celebration was a garden theme. The festive floral paper from the Poppy Fields Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit kit screamed ‚Äúframe‚Äù to me and that is how I went about building my page. I simply cut most of the white out of the paper, leaving a beautiful poppy border. I knew I wanted it to look like an outdoor scene and to do that I plopped some watercolors on the page and stitched clouds in the ‚Äúsky‚Äù above my photo. Using washi and arrows, die cuts, and stickers from the Poppy Fields Modern Memory Keeping Kit, I tucked and layered bits to give a whimsical feel to this party photo. The quote sticker from the Poppy Field Memory Keeping Sticker Kit was shaped a bit too large and I wanted it to stretch horizontally across the top of my photo, which meant I needed to do a bit of cutting. Final touches to the layout included glitter dots and a sentiment I stamped on scrap paper and added to the top of my photo. I love how my poppy garden scene turned out and hope it brings my daughter just as much joy when she looks through her album. Another stunning design in which the product inspired the story documented. We love Carol's poppy paper border and the whimsical outdoor created on this spread.
