Post Cards from a Paris, Oh la la!

Post Cards from a Paris, Oh la la!
Greetings from the land of Oh La La! Our design team is sharing their take on the theme “post cards from Paris” today on the blog. Ria is using the theme to document a recent trip to Paris while Evy was in Paris last week and she is documenting her trip with the Love Notes envelope stencil. Let’s start with Ria’s design. “I just came back from a month long trip and I was so excited to start crafting again. However, I discovered that I had taken 8,000 +++ photos! Choosing pictures was giving me decision fatigue! I couldn’t start. Once I finally chose a few pics, I decided to work only with a few things from my stash so that I will not feel overwhelmed. For this project, I used only the Pretty Little Studio ‘Chasing Dreams’ die cuts that came in the Cocoa Daisy Noted Classified Memory Keeping kit.” “The project theme is Postcards From Paris and I love it! I thought it was fun to reminisce about the trip in a DIY postcard style. I picked out some of our nicest photos and printed them out in 3x5. Then, I simply used the back of the photo as the canvas for the postcard. I used my own handwriting to write out the journaling and to draw the segments of the postcard. I embellished both with elements from the die cut pack. I adhered some of them with foam tape to add depth. I also decided to add enamel dots to create more texture.” “Here’s a tip though: be sure to use a fast-drying pen to avoid accidental smudges because the back portion of photos is usually slick.” Ria’s mini album of Paris is going to be absolutely adorable. Her idea to use a postcard design on the back of trip photos is a time and paper saver as well as a great way to use up your embellishments. Now let’s see what Evy has created for us today. “Hello, I am currently on my last day in Paris and I wanted to share with you one of the pages that I have prepared to remind me of the most important things of every day here!” “I prepared this layout a week ago using this month's stencil (from tn mk kit) and created 4 small envelopes which I then closed with puffy hearts!” “Inside I inserted cards (which I cut to fit the envelopes), then added the title and dates! I find it a quick way to do memory keeping on the go when you can't bring scrap material, just the tn and a pen!” “If you have doubts about the use of the stencil, know that it is easy to use. 1. Choose your paper and a pencil. 2. Put the stencil on your paper and follow the outline with the pencil. 3. Cut with scissors and fold! I can't wait to fill my Simple Dori with envelopes full of other memories!” Envy’s envelopes are beautiful and we love her idea of using them to do memory keeping on the go while traveling. A unique and quick way to capture moments during your travels as they happen. In the end you have a lovely keepsake too! We hope you enjoyed our little trip to Paris.
