Planning with the Inklings Classic Vertical Inserts

Hello, friends!

There are so many way to plan using the Inklings Classic Vertical Inserts.

Rachel Newman: Planning with the Inklings Classic Vertical Inserts

The weekly spread of the Inklings Classic Vertical Inserts comes in a vertical layout, with three rows for each day of the week. These row can be used in a variety of ways, including “Morning, Afternoon, Evening”, a common use for them. Lately, I have utilized the three boxes in a way that works well for my brain and helps me break down my to-do list, so I’m not trying to “do it all”

The top row is used for timed events, labeled “Today” with alpha stickers from the Classic Cousin Sticker Kit. This works for me because I typically only have one or two timed events in a given day. If I wanted to, I could also include other items like when I plan to exercise and time blocking for tasks in my other sections.

The second row is split between my mini-wins which are smaller tasks that take less than 10 minutes that I often avoid or forget. Having them in the mini-win’s section give me a little boost, prompting me to then tackle the must do’s. Must do’s are items that are urgent and important that day and I work hard to have less than three of these and not adding items to this section if it is empty. It is OK to not have anything I have to do on a given day. I’m not hear to celebrate being busy for the sake of being busy!

The third row is my Maybe section, for the items that I could do today. Often times, these are items that will be urgent later, but aren’t urgent yet. I love when my days has lot’s of maybe’s and very few Must Do’s.

I’ve talked about documenting Little Wins and Glimmers in the past. There is no right or wrong way to document this practice. One of the easiest ways to remember to do it by paring the journaling practice with your planning practice. Here, I have setup my color block weekly insert from the Inklings Classic Vertical Inserts to house my Little Wins and Glimmer and my currently list created using the Currently Stamp Set. I love the idea of checking my planner each day and filling in what I’m proud of and what’s bring me joy all at the same time.
