Nothing to Plan? Use Vellum!
Hello, friends!

Certain seasons of life are quieter than others. For those quieter, less full weeks, consider adding a unique element like vellum to your planner spread!

Elizabeth Jorgenson: Nothing to Plan? Use Vellum!

I am 3 weeks into being bumped on a log at home, thanks to a slip on the bottom of my stairs and fracturing my tibia. This physical challenge has left me at home with canceled plans and nothing to put into my planner.

But I have so longed for a creative space to play and distract my mind, so I decided to break out the Serenity Stationery Kit, and decorate my weekly planner anyway!
I hope this is an inspiration for those who regularly have little to plan, who are home sick with a toddler, or who are sick themselves. Try and make space for being creative with your kits anyway- it’s a new kind of chicken soup for the soul!

From the Serenity Stationery Kit, I immediately honed in on the piece of vellum. The imagery was so beautiful and calming, and I thought it would help take up a lot of space in my weekly planner (perfect since I’m not writing much these days).

I tore the vellum diagonally and glued it to the right side of the page. I took the smaller piece and glued it on the left side of the page. I then extended out the image of the vellum by adding clear stickers from the Serenity Stationery Kit, to make the cherry blossom tree reach further, and added the woman with the umbrella to the bottom left page.

This mix of vellum paper and clear stickers creates a great mixed media feel to the planner spread and fills the pages so I don’t feel anxious about all the things I can’t do right now. I added a big reminder that it’s ok to rest this season and left just a pinch of space on the dated page for any notes I may want to take. I used clear floral stickers and the date stickers from the stationery kit, to dress up the functional side of the spread.

I hope this suggestion for using vellum to fill your page is helpful when you’re stuck down like I am! Get the rest you need to heal, and be sure to play creatively anyway!
