Low Pressure Journaling with the Serenity Journaling Kit

Low Pressure Journaling with the Serenity Journaling Kit

Hello, friends!

Journaling should be a joy, not a burden. So if you need to scale back your process, do that so you can maintain a consistent journaling habit.

Elizabeth Jorgenson: Low-Pressure Journaling with the Serenity Journaling Kit

Are you in a season of limited capacity for journaling and memory-keeping? Me too! As mentioned in a previous post and on Instagram (@thejoyfulsojourn), I sustained an injury that kept me down and made me unable to do much these days. For some that may mean lots of time for journaling! But for me, it’s just overwhelming and every day feels like the movie Groundhog Day.

So instead of daily journaling right now, I’m using a Serenity Simple Daisy Notebook with basic prompts to log SOMETHING this season. I used the gridded paper from the Serenity Journaling Kit to create a “spreadsheet” of highs and lows for the week. I ripped lines 3-9, which automatically provides my dates for the week. I used the alpha stickers for titling the columns, and all I needed to do was write down something I’m grateful for each day, and something that challenged me. Since I’m keeping it brief with the daily reflections, I lined out an overall weekly reflection at the top. This simple layout gives me a daily and weekly journaling reflection space without being overwhelming and a bunch of space I need to fill in.

On the top of the right page, I wanted to add more imagery and beauty from the Serenity Journaling Kit without having to write more. So I glued down a sticky note from the kit and added additional clear stickers to create a framed piece of art. I hope this sample is the inspiration you need to journal- even if you don’t have much to say or don’t want to write a lot. One high/gratitude for the day, one low/improvement, and then a brief reflection at the end of the week to look back on.
