Nordic Skies Product Feature: Stars

Nordic Skies Product Feature: Stars
Hello, friends! We can't get enough of all the stars in the memory-keeping kits from the Nordic Skies Collection and wanted to share some ways to use them!

Ashley Horton: Product Feature: Stars from Nordic Skies

I definitely have to say, that the Nordic Skies Collection is dreamy...especially with all of the stars that are included in the memory-keeping kits. I wanted to use some of the chipboard stars and vellum stars on this layout, documenting the Slumberland movie. I thought it would be fun to place the stars around the circles on one of the patterned papers from the Nordic Skies Modern Memory-Keeping Kit. .
I decided to use two different patterned papers for this layout, that would help feature the stars, but also be subtle enough for adding my photo. Both of these papers were great for giving my layout that dreamy look that goes along with the theme of the movie.
I knew the half circles on this patterned paper would be just the right spot to add my stars. I started with the larger vellum stars and got them placed where I wanted them on each of the three circles. Then I started filling in the space with the smaller chipboard stars from the Nordic Skies Modern Memory Keeping Kit and the Nordic Skies Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. And for a little extra sparkle, I also mixed in some of the enamel dots.
Once I had the left-hand side of my layout finished, I moved on to adding my photo. I just grabbed a screenshot of one of the movie posters for my photo. And I used one of the journaling cards from the Nordic Skies Modern Memory Keeping Kit to back my photo. I love the look of the black & white polka dots behind the photo.
Since I planned for my journaling to be a review of the movie, I decided it would be better to make it hidden so it didn't detract from the layout design. I made the journaling card into a pocket so that I could slide the review right into it. I used one of the adhesive-backed Die Cuts as a pull tab at the top of the journaling and embellished it with a butterfly that I fussy cut from one of the other journaling cards. I wanted to finish the layout, by adding some of that dreamy look around my photo space. I brought in a few more stars and some of the rub-ons to carry that look over from the left-hand page.
I love that I can use my Cocoa Daisy Kits to document so many different stories! And I really love it when the theme of the kit matches the theme of my layout so perfectly!! Watch me put this spread together in this Instagram Reel.
