No Snow, No Problem!

No Snow, No Problem!

 Hello, friends!

From chilly to tropical, the Let It Snow Collection has something for everyone!

Traci Reed: No Snow? No Problem!

Living somewhere where it rarely snows, I've gotten used to using snowy imagery on non-snow pages. Especially around Christmas, it just seems like snowflakes are another icon to be used like a an ornament or star!

For my page using the Let Is Snow Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and Let It Snow Modern Memory Keeping Kit, I thought the adorable little penguins included in the icons looked like they were caroling, so they were perfect to pair with photos of my son's Christmas choral concert!

Nothing about these photos says "snow" or even "winter" but when paired with the winter icons it tells the story of the Christmas concert wonderfully!

I paired two of the penguins on the outside flap of this page with the number for my December daily. The page is wrapped like a present with a bow and all, and I enjoy the interactivity of untying it to get to the inside!

When opened, you can see the photo of my kid on the inside of the flap, plus the title and main photos for the spread. For the title, I used one of the stickers from the Let It Snow Memory Keeping Sticker kit for "winter" and then stamped "concert" with an older Cocoa Daisy alpha stamp in red to tie all the colors of the collection together. This was also a great place to use all the patterned sticker tips from the Let It Snow Memory Keeping Sticker kit as little washi patterned strips to ground my title.

Inside the pocket is the program for the concert, I love the way the half circle cut-out frames that rose on the program perfectly, drawing your attention to something being inside the pocket.

Lastly, I used cards from the Let It Snow Modern Memory Keeping Kit to fill out the pockets on the left hand side of the spread, printing my journaling on one and adding a family photo to the other. I matted one last photo on patterned paper from the same kit and then added in some wintery bits and florals to all the cards to finish up the page. No snow? No problem!
