Mini Folio Album with Let's Go Scrapbooking Kit

Hello, friends!

There are so many ways to use the Let's Go Scrapbooking Kit, including a folio for your travels!

Traci Reed: Mini Folio Album with Let's Go Scrapbooking Kit

In May, we went on a family vacation to Oahu and I wanted to be PREPARED for all of the trip ephemera I knew would be coming my way. Previously, I just went on wing and prayer, hoping to gather everything in whatever bag I could find and not lose or ruin it - not a good plan!

So this time, I decided to create this darling 6x8 folio album using the Let’s Go 12x12 Paper Add-on and Let's Go Scrapbooking Kit! It may appear more complicated than it is, but I assure you it is not. It was so fun to put together - with plenty of pockets for all my tickets, boarding passes, hotel keys, and other assorted things I collected on vacation.

Choose two 12x12 papers from your Let’s Go 12x12 Paper Add-on that you would like to use for the album and trim them to 8” vertically, leaving them 12” wide, and then fold them in half to create two 6x8” booklets.

Using one of the scraps trimmed from your 6x8 papers, fold in the middle to create a 4x6 fold and nestle in between the two 6x8 folds to create a half-page you can use as a flap or pocket once the folio is bound.

To bind, sew, staple, or glue (less recommended) the spines together, making sure you have the paper you would like to be the outside cover on the outside. I chose to close my inner paper to form a pocket, but if you would like to leave it open, make sure the center of your album opens to the paper you would like to have in the middle.

Adhere the flap created by the half sheet to the front of the inside paper. I chose to have my pocket open to the right rather than the top, so I secured red line tape on the top and bottom of the flap. If desired, use a circle punch to create a half-circle notch in the center of the front edge of the pocket.

If you’d like to close the center of the booklet into a top-loading pocket, use red line tape or liquid glue on the right and bottom edges to seal it into a pocket. If desired, use a circle punch to create a half-circle notch in the center of the top of the pocket.

Using the other scrap trimmed from your 12x12 papers, trim to 8x3.5” to create a vertical pocket on the back of the center pocket, adhering on 3 sides with red line tape or strong glue. If desired, use a circle punch to create a half-circle notch in the center of the front edge of the pocket.

On the last page of the album, I used acetate paper trimmed to 6x6” to create a top-loading pocket, then adhered the remaining half-page flap to the top of the acetate to create a second, staggered pocket.

And that’s it! The base construction! The rest of the album was created with the envelopes, postcards, and ephemera in the Let's Go Scrapbooking Kit! - check out the video!
