Greetings Cocoa Daisy friends, Today on the blog Jil and Audrey are sharing tips and techniques for creating titles in your memory keeping. Designing titles for your layouts is a lot of fun and they are a great way to draw the viewer into your page. Titles can be simple one word descriptions such as the name of the subject of your photos, "Fluffy," "Venice," and "Smithsonian," or a description of what your are documenting such as "Biking," "Score!," and "69." You can create simple titles with stickers, stamps, stencils, or a cut file. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece to make a statement! Jill is sharing a traveler's notebook design with a stamped title. She tells us, "on this TN page documenting the pandemic, I created a long title in a small space by using the stamp sets included in the TN and pocket page memory-keeping kits and some gray ink." "Since the text began "hello, beautiful" and included this striking photo of what grocery shopping looks like these days, I included the die cut right above my title." "Under the photo, I did a little more creating with the stamps, this time combining them with a word sticker from the memory-keeping classified kit." "Those Amy Tangerine stickers were also good to scatter a few grocery elements across the spread--a popsicle, peach, and some strawberries. And yes, Tim was definitely a peach to do the shopping for us in this crazy time!" We love all the little details in Jil's layout and her stamping is so cute! For stability and a crisp design, we recommend slipping a hard surface behind the page you want to stamp directly on in you Simple Dori. One of the tools we use is the standard TN size pencil board like the one we had in last year's Fresh Cut TN kit. Next up is Audrey sharing her a traditional layout about a celebration.  "Hello friends, I have some techniques and tips to help you make a bold statement with titles in your memory keeping. Today, I am telling the story of my 40th birthday cake smash." "TIP ONE: I used pattern paper and to break up the pattern behind my title, I stamped the words 'cake smash' on a white piece of paper repeatedly with the awesome alphabet stamps included in the kits. Ultimately, you can't read all the words, but you can see the stamping. I glued the paper down and used washi from the memory keeping kits along the top and bottom edges. The washi tape breaks up the both of the wordy papers making for a cohesive layout." "TIP TWO:  The focus of my layout is the title and the picture, therefore both of them are big and make up the bulk of the layout. I paired a 6x8 photo with my big title "40th Birthday Cake Smash." I cut out the number 40 and letters "th" with my Silhouette in a large sized font using paper from the TN kit and used pop dots to elevate the letters giving my title dimension. The title is just about the same size as the photo which pulls the viewer in." "TIP THREE: Because the main portion of the title is so big, using smaller letters underneath is a great way to finish it off." "TIP FOUR: Add a banner and some smaller stickers around your layout to pull it together. I completed my title with the Amy Tangerine sticker that says "happy happy" as it's my birthday, and of course I was "happy happy"! I tucked the sticker underneath the "th" for more dimension. The last steps were to add my fun banner, some word stickers on the bottom right and some of those Amy Tangerine hearts from the 12x12 kit."
