Memory Keeping Simplified with a Grid Design

December already?! With every new month comes the thrill of a new collection and the Winter Twilight Collection does not disappoint! Here is a closer look inside the collection with Traci Reed!

Now that you had a chance to see the collection in detail, we are excited to share a quick and easy way to utilize all the fun papers and embellishments in your memory-keeping spreads. That's right, we are talking about grid layouts! Grid designs are great for providing a structure to your page, while still allowing for plenty of opportunities to embellish amidst the grid. A trick for getting started is to consider the size and shape of the grid you are hoping to accomplish. While it is most natural to use squares and rectangles, you can easily create a grid pattern using circles, triangles, and stars, all found in the Winter Twilight Collection. 
Jennie's grid layout has a huge impact against the white background on the 12x12 layout.
Grids are my absolute favorite! I think that it's the most fun and easy way to create any project. I had a lot of fun using the fun tree elements from the Winter Twilight Modern Memory Keeping Kit and the Winter Twilight Classified: Planner Kit to document our huge tree! To make the grid I trimmed papers from the Winter Twilight Modern Memory Keeping Kit into squares and laid out the photos and paper squares to create a visual triangle.
I continued the visual triangle, I included stamping and embellishments above, to the side, and below the grid design. 
Grid designs can be super structured, or a little more organic as Jil demonstrates here.
Winter has come early! I captured this story in a loose grid spread in my December notebook, and the Winter Twilight Collection offered the perfect papers and details to catch that winter vibe. I love creating a grid with three matted photos and one block for the title. I made the title block with the winter cap paper and the stamp set from the Winter Twilight Modern Memory Keeping Kit.
I did my journaling in red fountain pen ink, something I plan to do throughout my December journal for a festive touch! I loved embellishing with all the goodies from the Winter Twilight Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit: chipboard stars, puffy stickers, glitter stars, die-cuts, one circle transparency over one photo, and stamping. I scattered most of these pretty evenly among the four quadrants of my grid.
For me, grid layouts are quick and fun, and I enjoy breaking up the structure of the squares with the loose and organic placement of embellishments.
The vertical pages in the Cocoa Daisy Daisy Planner are perfect for grid designs.
Lately, this style of memory planning has become standard practice. I have not had access to my regular printing setup, which means I need to order my prints from Walgreens. To get the most out of a 4x6 print, I use an app on my phone to add 6 2x2 square photos to one photo. This keeps the cost of printing down and provides the perfect opportunity for grid layouts in my planner. Next, I trim papers from the Winter Twilight Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit to the size of my photos and pair papers with photos.
My strategy is to try and have three grid elements for each day of the week: a photo, a decorative square, and a journaling spot. This becomes the foundation of the page and takes the guesswork out of what should go where. Next, I pull embellishments like the stars, labels, alphas, and stickers from the same kit to embellish the grid squares. I love to add journaling with a mix of alphas, almost creating a title for the day.
To add more red around the page I used the stamp set from the Peach Ridge Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit add layered it over several embellishment clusters. Finally, I stamped the dates using the Clear Alpha Stamp Set in the left column.
