Project 1: Biosphere 2
This layout tells the story of my college semester at Biosphere 2 in Arizona. This page was a bit tricky as my photos from this time (fall of 2000) are 72 dpi 480x640 images taken with my first digital camera. I printed six of these as 1.5" squares and then also scanned a few prints I had been given from friends so that I could have some larger photos on the page. I enjoyed using the planner papers and oversized tags from the Classified kit as the patterned paper on this layout.
Project 2: Five Right Now
This layout tells the story of what life is like for my 9-year-old daughter in early 2021. The transparent word art pieces inspired the direction of this layout. I started this page by creating a grid in Photoshop to map out the placement of my journaling. Each square is 2" and I grouped two embellishments and a cardstock number on top of each. The transparent pieces added the final touch to my full page photo.
Project 3: Love Your Self
This layout tells the story of my mental health journey entering into the new year. I don't create many pocket pages these days, but I love using 3x4 and 4x6 on my layouts. I didn't want my journaling to feel like it was floating, so I printed it on a colored block. (I sampled the color from the Treetop Canopy planner printable.) Once my grid came together it felt a little austere, so I added the stamped lines and drew a wonky outline around the groupings.
 
Project 4: Together
This layout tells the story of one of our favorite family spots, the university arboretum. I started by making marks with ink on the background. Then I layered a patterned paper cut, my photos, and a collection of the Treetop Canopy embellishments. I saved a few of my favorites for the left side where I printed my journaling. A visually continuous strip of washi tape along the bottom brings the two pages together. Note: This layout uses a Paige Evans cut file.
