Make It Interactive with Snow Day Society
Hello, friends!

If you love interactive pages in your December Daily albums, this easy 3-fold design is a fun way to maximize your space and use up those gorgeous Cocoa Daisy patterned papers from the Snow Day Society collection.

 Traci Reed: Make It Interactive with Snow Day Society

With just one 12x12" sheet from 12 x12 Paper add on and one matching 6x8.5" paper from the Snow Day Society Scrapbook Kit, you can create a layered, cascading page that flips open to reveal multiple spots for photos, journaling, and decorative touches.

This design works beautifully for days when you have more photos than usual or just want to add a little surprise element to your album. Plus, the pattern continues across each flap for a cohesive, finished look — no matter which one is open.
What You’ll Need
* One 12x12” patterned paper from the Snow Day Society Scrapbook Kit
* One 6x8.5” patterned paper in the same design
* Scoring board or bone folder
* Trimmer
* Adhesive (double-sided tape or glue)

Step 1: Create Your Base Page

Start by cutting your 12x12” paper down to 10.75x8.5”. Then, score it along the 10.75” length at 4.5”. This will give you a main page that measures 6.25x8.5”, with a folded 4.5” flap on the side. This is your foundation layer.

Step 2: Prepare the Second Flap

Next, take your 6x8.5” paper and trim it to 4.5x8.5”. Score along the 4.5” edge at 1” to create a 1” hinge and a 3.5x8.5” flap. This hinge is what allows the flap to open and close smoothly without pulling on the main page.

Step 3: Attach the Hinge

Wrap that 1” hinge around the back of the first flap’s fold and adhere it to the back side. This creates a set of cascading flaps that open one after another — perfect for layering journaling, photos, or pockets.
Once assembled, you’ll have:
* Two 3.5x8.5” flaps
* Two 4.5x8.5” flaps
* One 6.25x8.5” main page

Now comes the fun part! Add photo mats, journal cards, and embellishments to each flap. You can create a storytelling sequence across the folds, dedicate each panel to a different day, or use them to document a single story from multiple angles.
This simple folding technique is one of my favorites for December Daily projects — it’s easy to make, uses minimal supplies, and creates such a dynamic storytelling layout. Whether you fill it with cozy winter photos, handwritten notes, or bits of ephemera, your Snow Day Society Scrapbook Kit paper will shine from every angle.
