Lucky Us!

Lucky Us!
Greetings Cocoa Daisy Fans, Today on the blog we wanted to spend some time reminding each other of the good things in our lives. On this St. Patrick’s day our theme, “Lucky Us,” is a serendipitous countermeasure to current world events. And so we invite you to come along with us on a happiness break with our Orchard Path kits! Our first design share is a gorgeous rainbow of color by Traci. “I fully embraced the rainbow with my layout, even including paper-pieced scalloped rainbows cut from a digital template!” “I knew I wanted to use these lovely colors to create a non-traditional rainbow so in order to ensure it made sense, I kept my rainbows in ROYGBIV color order, even though they're really PGTB (Pink, Green, Teal, Blue).” “To really bring home the rainbow vibe, my title is done in the same color order and I clustered my enamel dots vertically down the page in the same color scheme.” “Overall, it was such a fun layout to make!” Traci’s design is a wonderful mix of pattern and color and it’s oh so adorable!  The scalloped edge of Traci’s rainbows and their placement on her layout create a soft trail of happiness through the design. The rainbow title backed with our exclusive papers stands out with its thin white outline. And finally, the clusters of flowers and sparkling enamel dots are the perfect finishing touch. You can see Traci’s process by clicking here. Next we have a sweet monochromatic design by Sabrina. “For this project I decided to go with monochromatic green because I knew that I had the perfect photos to go with all the green papers and diecuts in the March kit.” “I saw that one of the journaling cards had a fun border around it so I decided to put the photo of my husband and I in that spot. This serves as the focal point for my design and I built my whole travelers notebook spread around it.“ “I used a ton of die cuts that were in various shades of green on my project. I also used a few stamped sentiments to add more green color and lastly the leaf stamp in various places. With a nice mix of embellishments I was able to create a fun, eye-catching monochromatic project.” Monochromatic color schemes are an easy way to set a specific tone for your layout that signifies a mood, season, or holiday. It’s a great way to use multiple shades of the same color and to mix patterns as Sabrina has done so beautifully in her design. Another awesome feature is Sabrina’s stamping and her clever use of the alpha stickers for the title, all of which add texture to the layout. I want to finish up with an Irish proverb that states, “there is luck in sharing a thing.” We hope you have enjoyed the little bits of happiness our DT has shared today. Thank you for joining us and happy crafting! Robin
