Love Notes Mixed Media Ideas
Welcome to February!
Today we are sharing mixed media designs from DT members, Traci, Rachel, and Jil. Their designs are aaaamazing so let’s jump right in with Traci’s February monthly view layout.
Traci used the stamps from the Love Notes Memory Keeping Kits to create this adorable monthly view of February in her planner.
In this closeup, you can see how she used a phrase from the pocket kit stamp and the banner from the Traveler’s Notebook stamp set.
And here we can see another closeup Traci’s design with our limited edition Love Notes stamps.
Those XO’s are super cute in the pink ink Traci chose to stamp her design. All the stickers and die cuts add that extra special touch of adorableness.
Next Rachel is sharing lots of wonderful stamping ideas and tips you can use in your Memory Keeping Happy Planner as well as your favorite scrapbooking or planner medium. “Today I'm sharing my LOVE of stamps and four ways you can use your stamps in your memory planner. First, stamps are a great way to embellish the decorative box stickers from the Memory Keeping Sticker Kit. I used Versafine Black ink to stamp directly on the box stickers and the circle labels.”
“Second, you can take your stamps "on the go" by making sticker sheets with stamps. Love Simon (sold out from the Valentine 2020 Bonus kit)? Why not stamp him several times on sticker paper so that you can add him to your pages whenever you want. This helps cut down on that Simon hoarding tendency some of us have (guilty!).”
“Third, you can create patterned paper by stamping multiple times on a sheet of paper. Then, you can make your own decorative boxes, pocket cards, or even washi tape with your DIY pattern.”
“Lastly, you can use a masking method with your stamps to create the exact image you want, as I did with this heart banner. The banner was too long for the box, so I created a mask to only stamp the part I wanted on the page.”
“As you can see, I like to have my stamps stored in a way that makes them easy to grab. I turned a desk organizer on it side for my stamps and blank label sheets and put all my past Cocoa Daisy stamps in a clear organizer with an extra ink and acrylic block.”

And our final design share today is this gorgeous 12x12 layout by Jil. “I used the wonderful red acrylic paint included in the Memory Keeping Classified Kit. With foam alpha stamps, I created a big phrase title for this page about my nieces and their grandma. Apply the paint to the stamps with a paintbrush (and then clean them right away!). Most of us have foams stamps of some sort, and if not, they're pretty inexpensive and so much fun to use with paint!”
“I also used the acrylic paint on my background by sponging the paint through a simple heart stencil, the sort you could make yourself with a punch or die-cut machine. I love how well the red paint goes with the sweet patterned paper in the Love Notes Memory Keeping kit! I layered the papers under my photos, which I printed in black and white because I knew the red would be dramatic, and I didn't want my color photos to clash.”
“My journaling is typed on clear sticker paper and I added extra words with phrase stickers and the lovely acrylic "love" pieces around my layout. Finally, it was fun to embellish with the dimensional heart stickers and acrylic dots from earlier kits.”
“Oh, and I used the little kit stamps on almost all of my pages! Here you'll see the XO and heart-with-an-arrow stamps blended into the embellishment clusters. One final thought, paint is a wonderfully versatile mixed media kit item--one we can use repeatedly in these and other ways!”
I have to try the sponge method with my stencils and paint. The imperfect results of sponge painting with stencils add another level of interest to Jil’s layout. It’s a gorgeous design plus the heartfelt journaling gets to the heart of documenting our stories.
