Rachel Newman: Journal Setup with the Summer Ave Collection

One of the first things I like to do when setting up a new journal for the month is to decorate pockets of my cover. I included fun with decorative cards from the Summer Avenue Creative Kit and function with the large sticky notes from the Summer Avenue Planner Kit. I also decided to make a removable cover (with pockets!) for my Summer Avenue Daisy Weeks Notebook using a paper from the Summer Avenue Planner Kit.

The pocket holds the stickers I'm most likely to use in this journal, like the Summer Avenue Daisy Weeks Sticker Kit. But my favorite part of this journal setup is how I decorated the actual cover of my Summer Avenue Daisy Weeks Notebook. 

 I was so excited about this map stamp from the Summer Avenue "City Adventures" Stamp Set. It's large scale made it easy to stamp on to my notebook as the background for my embellishments cluster. To make the cluster I layered a few label stickers on top of a decorative card from the Summer Avenue Creative Kit. For a more finished look, I included a strip of pattern paper from the paper pad in the Summer Avenue Creative Kit along the spine of the notebook. 

I kept the back of the notebook pretty simple with a die cut on top of the map pattern. I'm so excited for June to dive into this journal setup!
