Hello, Friends!
We have all done it. We thumb through magazines, scroll through Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest, and marvel at the creativity shared. We cut out, save, pin and maybe even screenshot our favorites, fully intending to remember that inspiration when we begin our creative endeavors. But sometimes, we forget to refer back to the ideas that made our creative hearts skip a beat. Not today! In this post, we have three designs, each one inspired by someone else.
Evy was inspired by another creative soul and the result is stunning!
"Inspiration is everywhere! Often for my projects, I get inspired by the things around me: nature, my family, a book but often my inspiration comes from social networks. There are so many creative people that I follow who inspire me every day with their projects and their photos. One of these is definitely Jamie Pate.
Some time ago I saw a project of hers with a pocket and it was stuck in a corner of my mind until I found a use: my alternative to project life for this year! In fact, I created the pockets (size 6x8) with paper and cards from the modern memory-keeping kit and filled them with photos, stories, and embellishments.
I find it a very nice and fun way to tell the most significant events of the month. And then I can use a lot of die cuts and embellishments! Isn't that a great way to use the leftovers from various kits as well?"
"Hello Cocoa Daisies! Did you know that in each Modern Memory Keeping Kit and Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit, our wonderful Christine Everett includes a few sketches and project ideas? This is one of my favorite "products" as they provide TONS of inspiration for my layouts -- like this one!
This layout is based on the project idea from the Treetop Canopy Modern Memory Keeping Kit Instruction Sheet, which I used with the Denim and Blush Collection. I started with four of the patterned papers from the collection and cut them in a diamond shape on my Silhouette. If you don't have a die-cut machine, you can cut them out by hand and trace one for consistency. I then glued them down in just a random pattern.
After, I splattered some pink paint in the top left and bottom right corner and then popped my photo up with pop dots from my stash. I then used some of the script stickers to spell out the word "sisters" and wrote a quote underneath.
Finally, I finished the layout with a few chipboard pieces on the diamond and I scattered some enamel dots around the page. I really love how this layout came together. Thank you, Christine Everett, for the beautiful inspiration!" We love how Audrey used a project idea from one collection combined with embellishments from another. Much like stamps, these instruction sheets can be used as many times as you like with as many collections as you like. And while Audrey was inspired by Christine's page, she gave her layout the "Audrey" touch, which we love!
I'm rounding out the blog today, sharing how fun it is to adapt sketches for a memory planner!
The project ideas and sketches found in both memory-keeping kits are versatile and can be adapted for any memory-keeping style. For this memory planner spread, I used two of Christine's designs and made them work in this format.
On the left pages, I used the sketch on the Instruction Sheet from the Treetop Canopy Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit as the jumping-off point for this little story from the week. I adapted the sketch by reducing the number of photos and adding a bold pattern paper from the Treetop Canopy Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. behind the photos. Aside from these changes, I stayed pretty true to the original design and I love how it turned out!
For the right page, I was inspired by a design from the Treetop Canopy Modern Memory Keeping Kit Instruction Sheet to help tell the story of a fun crafty happy hour with my friend Natasha. Having a digital version of the instruction sheet means I can still be inspired by Christine even if I'm not a recipient of this kit! As you can see, I played a little more with this inspired design and swapped out several elements based on the supplies I was working with including the Treetop Canopy Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit, Treetop Canopy Classified: Memory Keeping Kit, Treetop Canopy Memory Keeping Sticker Kit, and the Treetop Canopy Planner Add-on Kit. 
Even though Christine's design was created on a 6x8 layout still works beautifully in the Cocoa Daisy Planner. Be inspired and create in the format you enjoy the most! If you would like to see my step-by-step process, check out this video on my YouTube Channel.
