Hello Hexagons for Your Pretty Pages!

Hello Hexagons for Your Pretty Pages!
Hello, friends!
The Afternoon Tea Collection has so many fun hexagons to create with! The Creative Team accepted the challenge to create designs that feature hexagons and we think you are going to love them!
Traci let the page design inform the subject for her memory keeping spread.
I LOVE a page with a SOLID design, so I actually started this page with the hexagon design - and NO subject in mind!
As I played with the hexagons from the Afternoon Tea Collection, I immediately honed in on the yellow/orange/fuschia color palette and when that solidified, it reminded me of the brand new baby plant I'd just purchased, and voila - I had a subject and theme!
Because the hexagons are pretty overwhelming in design, I kept the rest of the page fairly simple, adding a title and a few florals to complete the theme.

Karma loved decorating her memory planner with all the hexagons!
I just could not believe how many different themes and elements were in this month’s Afternoon Tea Collection -- I’m so inspired! One of my favorite elements in the kit is the hexagons – I had to use them in both my Hobonichi Cousin and Hobonichi Weeks!
I made a tip-in goals sheets for my May monthly overview. I used one of the Afternoon Tea A5 Planner Inserts as my base, layered it with a journaling card for my May cover sheet, and drew hexagons to use as checkboxes. Finally, I secured the insert with one of the adorable ribbon clips! To make the checkboxes, I used a stencil that had a small hexagon to draw them in with the Cocoa Daisy pen and shadowed the hexagons with the bold pink Zebra brush pen from the Afternoon Tea Planner Add-on Kit. Love it!
In my weeks, I used several of the hexagon stickers and paired them up with the super cute binder clip stickers! There is somewhat of a whimsical and graphic feel to this spread that just makes me what to stay organized and planned ahead!
Don’t be afraid to use stickers and elements in your weeks that can be layered in unconventional ways! Cocoa Daisy makes amazing week’s kits, and sometimes I like to go rogue and pull elements into my weeks that may have been made for the larger-sized planners – and I love how this turned out! Carol incorporated hexagons into all parts of her spread!

I am absolutely smitten with this Afternoon Tea Collection! I love the colors, the patterns, and those hexagons! What a great design element for my Traveler's Notebook spread. I have several basic-shaped dies in my stash and hexagons are among them. If you don't have a set of dies, use the hexagon chipboard or puffy sticker (included in the kit) to trace and make a template.

Use that template to cut out the elements for your spread. I decided to not only use hexagons for my patterned paper and card stock, but also for my photos. I just love how it brings a cohesive look to the spread.

I also used the General Store Number Stamp included in the Afternoon Tea Modern Memory Keeping Kit to add the date at the bottom. Oh, how I love the bold look of those numbers! With so many beautiful shaped elements in the Afternoon Tea Collection, it makes it easy to whip up a few pages with this theme in mind. I completely enjoyed using hexagons as a focal point and I hope you'll give it a try as well.
