Go Ahead and Fussy Cut Those 12x12 Papers!

Hello, friends!

The 12x12 Papers in the Little Bee Cottage 12x12 Paper Add-On are stand-alone stunners, but with a little fussy cutting, they can be so much more!

Traci Reed: Fussy Cut those 12x12 Papers!

When I saw the beautiful paper in the Little Bee Cottage 12x12 Paper Add-On with the ferns in the corners, I had the urge to fussy cut the whole thing into a 12x12 frame for my layout, so using an exact knife, I did just that! To further define the edges, I then used a blending brush with some brown ink to “distress” the whole page and give a lovely antiqued look to the layout.

From there, I created a tag using one of the tags from the Little Bee Cottage Scrapbook Kit and the same ink blending technique. Then I used red, green,  and brown ink with the stamps to create a vintage look, topping the whole thing with the doily rub-on, chipboard banner, and 3 enamel dots. When I placed the tag on my layout, I went over both the tag and the other papers with the butterfly rub-ons in the corner to incorporate the tag into the composition.

I just love the way all the textures from the inking, lace, torn paper, roughed-up edges, and even the edges of the ferns floating away from the background give this page such depth and richness. There’s so much eye candy that you could look at it for hours and still find new things to see!
