Get a head start on your December Documenting!

Traci Reed: Daily Documenting: Prep Your Pages!

'Tis the season for December memories and hooo boy, this project can be SO daunting! That's why I like to create foundation pages each year to help me tell my stories later. I don't really follow the "rules" for December Daily foundation pages, and I just pre-make pages that inspire me and I can adapt easily to any purpose during the month of December. This year, I used the Cocoa Daisy Let It Snow Modern Memory KeepingLet It Snow Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit to create 3 foundation pages & a handful of 3x4 and 4x6 cards to document my December!

The first page I created is an interactive one with papers from either memory keeping kit. I clipped a journal card from the Let It Snow Modern Memory Keeping + a cute penguin die cut and snowflake to the outside of the page and wrapped the whole thing in a ribbon that will tie the page closed.

When opened, the page reveals a pocket into which I can slide journaling or a photo collage. On the outside of the pocket is a full 6x8 page I can decorate + the inside of the 3x8 flap as well!

I REALLY wanted to use the rub ons in my foundation pages, but since they're permanent, I wanted to create a page that would be easy change and incorporate into more pages down the line, so I decided to use them on an acetate page! I VERY CAREFULLY adhered the rubons from the Let It Snow Modern Memory Keeping to the acetate and then stapled some of the pretty vellum snowflakes from the Let It Snow Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit around the edges!

For my third page, I created a whole spread by bunching various size circles and stars from the scraps of paper I had left over, as well as the patterned boxes in the Let It Snow Memory Keeping Sticker kit. I incorporated those with circular chipboard pieces as well as diecuts, then used the string to "hang" the ornaments with photos from the page. Some aded stamping finished it off and now the page is ready for the season!
