Hooray for Friday, am I right?! We have a special post for you today, featuring a few of our favorite things: Tags and Labels! If you received the Treetop Canopy Classified: Memory Keeping Kit you may have noticed a few repeat MVPs (Most Versatile Product!) including the colorful labels (with adhesive backs!), the large tags, and, of course, the gorgeous pattern papers that are perfect for making your own tags and layering elements with the labels. There were also a few tags in the Treetop Canopy Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit, and Treetop Canopy Modern Memory Keeping Kit, along with oodles of label stickers in the Treetop Canopy Daisy Add-On Sticker Kit, Treetop Canopy Bible Journaling Sticker Kit, and the Treetop Canopy Memory Keeping Sticker Kit. Lots of tags and labels to work with. We asked our Memory Keeping Team to design pages with the labels and tags as the featured decorative element. Let's see what they created! I started sticking down the labels in a diagonal arrangement from blue to red, rainbow style. I used an assortment of stickers, mostly from the Memory Keeping Sticker Kit and the Daisy Add On Sticker Kit. to keep the rainbow going, I tried to match the stickers with the colour of the label. I also did some stamping with the two stamps from the Treetop Memory Keeping Stamps to change it up a little. I take a lot of instant photos and sometimes they don’t turn out. I keep my failed frames to use in layouts and I knew I had just the one for this page. I stuck a printed photo on top and found the perfect spot for it among the labels." We love how Odessa stretched her creativity with this label-loving layout. To maintain the rainbow look, Odessa did a great job keeping the decorations on the labels in the same color family. Tags are definitely a staple in April's memory-keeping process. "Tags are one of my favorite shapes to layer behind photos. I have kept a few tags from older kits and use them as quick shape templates to cut the pattern paper. A little cluster of label stickers layered with alphas and stickers completed this layout. Love the bright fun pops of color." We love how April plays with the shape of her paper layers by making her own tags, creating texture and visual interest. And do you see how well the Puffy Alphas fit inside the larger labels! Just lovely, isn't it? And finally, I am a huge fan of tags and labels in my memory planner! I have a few "go-to" ways I use labels in my memory planner. The first is to note specific events and write directly on the labels, I do this a few times in this layout. The addition of the larger labels makes for a perfect journaling spot. Here, I clustered two of the labels together to get all my thoughts about an unexpected "Work From Home" week for my husband. Second, I like to use labels to cover up items on the page. For this spread, I covered the "Week Of" at the top of the page with a label. Using a label also gives me the perfect foundation for a little decorative cluster. And third, I absolutely LOVE using labels as purely decorative elements on the page. Here, I made a decorative border at the top of the page using trimmed-down labels in various shapes, sizes, and colors. Now let's talk about tags! I used three tags on this spread: a photo matte, a pocket card, and a photo flip. I like to use tags for these elements because they are visually more interesting than a piece of pattern paper and their shape signals movement and interaction. To make this tag, I used paper from the Treetop Canopy Classified: Memory Keeping Kit and used the kraft tag as my template. I used a hole reinforcer from my stash ( available on the sticker sheet in the Planner Kit Subscription) and punched a hole. This tag flip was made by scoring the end of the tag about 1/2 inch and adding adhesive to the 1/2 inch section. Again, the tag signals to the view to open the flap and see the story inside. Not only that, it provided me with more space for photos and the story than what would have fit on the page. How are you using tags and labels in your projects? We would love to know!
