Hello, Friends!
If you have been a Cocoa Daisy subscriber for a while, you may have noticed a few refreshes to some of the kits. Today, we are focusing on the
Modern Memory Keeping Kit and a few ways you can use this updated kit. No matter what type of memory keeper you are, this kit is meant for you! We asked our design team to create layouts using this kit and we can’t wait to share with you what they created.
First, let’s hear from
Ashley who created an adorable mini album with her kit.
“Hello! I’m so grateful for another year to make new memories and tell new stories. The
New Chapter Modern Memory Keeping Kit is so perfect for documenting a fresh start with new intentions. Today, I’m excited to share a mini album I created using the kit.
First, I selected a few 3x4" cards from the kit and cut down the 6x8” floral patterned paper for the cover. I love all the embellishments included in the kit. I added one cluster to a piece of acetate as an additional layer to protect the cover. Next, I used a couple cards to make tags and added my photos in between.
After I punched a hole in each page for the binder ring, I added more chipboard stickers throughout the album. The adhesive backing on the chipboard stickers really makes it quick and easy.
Finally, I used extra bits of patterned paper, die-cuts, and the chevron washi tape to make tabs. I love how it adds a bit more interest to the album. I had so much fun making this mini! I hope you’re inspired to make your own. Happy creating!”
Ashley’s mini album is a perfect way to jump-start her creativity in the new year. This month’s kit includes an o-ring with the intended purpose of aiding the creation of a mini-album, but you could also secure your mini album with ribbon, string, or discs.
Next, we have a 12x12 layout from
Jil.
“I see so many possibilities for Cocoa Daisy's new
Modern Memory Keeping Kit! I've already used the cards on my traveler's notebook pages and in my project life album. I began this 12x12 page excited to create with the veneer circles. My corgi is a little athlete, and I captured her with her ball in several photos that I pulled together into a collage.
I topped the ball in the largest photo with a veneer piece and used another over a random flower from my stash. I wanted to repeat the flower theme in the Modern Memory Keeping Kit stamp and daisy paper. I used the stamp along the top edge as part of a little cluster of elements.
To reinforce the circular theme in this layout, I added the flower paper in a rectangle along the bottom holding a row of "ball" circular embellishments from the chipboard and
New Chapter Sticker Kit. The chipboard arrow directs us to the bit of journaling I typed on clear sticker paper and adhered to the patterned paper.
I love the way the small "let's do this" stamp has an underline that was easy to create elsewhere on my page on a larger scale (under the title and my row of circles) by using the stamp set from the
New Chapter Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. The Cocoa Daisy kits work together beautifully, and this new
Modern Memory Keeping Kit approach offers so much versatility! " Jil's spread incorporates so many of the fun embellishments found in this kit. We love the circle theme found throughout and, of course, documenting her adorable four-legged friend!
Lastly, we have a pocket page design from
Odessa.
I love the refresh for the new
Modern Memory Keeping Kit so I wanted to make a layout exclusively using this kit. The New Chapter Kits are so bright and fun! It was harder than I thought because I mix all my kits together as soon as they come and I didn’t realize how much I use the Memory Keeping Sticker Add-On in everything I make! But I challenged myself and made these pocket pages using only this kit. I know the kit has a lot to do with the new year in it, but I’m trying so hard to finish up last year’s album and it still worked great with these beachy photos from July! I used some flowery journal cards from the
New Chapter Modern Memory Kit and got busy embellishing!
I used one of the circle wood veneer pieces on a patterned journal card. I used a paint marker to recolour it to match the layout a little more. I added in a circle chipboard sticker inside with some words cut from one of the die-cuts from the kit And, of course, I had to finish it off with some of the sparkly enamel dots!
Here I used another floral journal card with one of the list sticky notes on top. It’s perfect for highlighting some favourite movements!
The alpha stickers were just the thing I needed to add a title to this photo. Those three little glitter enamel dots really finish it off nicely! Now to use the
New Chapter Modern Memory Keeping Kit with some photos from this year!" Odessa shows us that with variety of elements in this kit, you can document memories from any time of year. We love seeing how Odessa stretched her creative muscle with her personal challenge to only use this kit for her layout.
