Hello!
Today we are sharing layouts that incorporate a wreath-like design.
Let’s begin with Jil’s 12x12 design. “What's fun about making a wreath from embellishments is that it gives me the chance to dip into so many kit goodies at once! When working in the 12x12 format, I often begin with white cardstock, but this time I chose a terra cotta colored background to create a warm vibe for my ‘Hello Fall Days’ layout.”
“I started by positioning my fall photos at the bottom of the page. Then I created a circle around them with the lovely gold-rimmed vellum leaves and the rubber leaves. At this point, I chose some die cuts to include.”
“Then I took my page to the sewing machine to add messy stitching to the circle. Fortunately, the rubber leaves were easy to move out of the way and reposition once I finished sewing (they are a bit too chunky for my machine to sew over). Then I created a title and a bit of journaling on a label about the pleasure of saying hello again to fall. I called attention to both title and journaling with arrows from the Memory Keeping Classified kit.”
“My finishing touches were gold ink splatters, stamping of tiny leaves and acorns, and a sprinkle of enamel dots and sequins. Flannel and Frost is a beautiful kit for documenting fall!”
Next I am sharing a pocket page with my take on this challenge. I wanted to use the stamp sets in the Flannel and Frost kits as soon as I saw them. I love pocket pages, especially the 2x2 pockets and so the stamps were perfectly sized for my “first signs of fall” layout idea for my 52 Favorites.
Most of my layout was created with the kit stamps. I did include some puffy stickers from the classified memory keeping too.
And I couldn’t resist including a patterned paper from the planner kit in my design.
Our final share is a circle based design by Audrey. “One of my most favorite styles of layouts to create is a wreath. They are so versatile, it can be adapted to use almost any product and you can use a lot of embellishments to pull it together. I did all of this in a 12x12 layout using the kits from the super fabulous Solstice collection.”
“For this wreath layout, I chose to do a star shape to mimic the celestial deliciousness from the collection. I traced a star using my Silhouette software and punched circles with the bold, different colored striped paper.”
“I then layered the colors around the star and clustered the colors together (yellow, pink and blue). At the points, I let the paper go over the edge in order to define the points a bit. I then placed my black and white photo of my husband and I towards the middle of the star.”
“Finally, I finished the layout by layering embellishments in the same color group around the star varying the texture, size and dimension of the embellishments. I absolutely love the purple clip on bow that came in the planner kit. To make it work for my wreath, I very gently took off the clip and used a glue dot from my stash to adhere it down. The bows that Cocoa Daisy puts out are some of my most favorite products to play with.”
“You can see a video of how this wreath came together on my YouTube channel. I can't wait to see how you play with wreaths in your layouts and planner pages.”
We invite you to share what you are creating with our kits in our private Facebook group or by tagging @cocoa_daisy on social media.
