I love the large and bold design in the double spread in my October Afternoon SimpleDaisy Notebook, and it was the perfect starting point for this project. The key is to balance the design without hiding it; that meant placing the photo in a diagonally opposite location.

 

  

I started with adding a bit of interest to the top right corner of the spread. I used soft brown ink to stamp the cross-hatched lines from the October Afternoon Scrapbooking kit stamp set. I used second- and third-generation stamping to achieve that broken stamped look on the background, then added a few pieces of the rub-ons -also in the October Afternoon Scrapbooking kit- before adding the photo on the stamped background.

  

  

The empty space below the photo was the perfect spot for the journaling. I capped the text with a stamped sentiment from the October Afternoon Scrapbooking kit. Next, I added a few of the die cuts around the photo and small stamped leaves throughout the page to complete this portion of the spread.

  

  

That little booklet of alpha stickers included in the October Afternoon Scrapbooking kit are perfection for creating a title. I added the words to the page with the printed design, being careful not to hide it; a few extra stamped leaves from the stamp included in the kit complete the spread.
