Mady Stone: Dutch Doors with Summer Avenue Deluxe Journaling Kit

Hi everyone, it's Mady here! I had so much fun creating this June cover page with a dutch door, and with the Summer Avenue Deluxe Journaling kit it's so easy! First thing I did was lay some PET stickers down on the left side of the page. This is where I add the month of the year with the letter stickers. This acts as a divider page between the previous and current month.

I only needed two items from the kit to create the vertical dutch door! First I cut the page so it was a different size. It's totally up to you on how much you want to cut off. You can use scissors or a paper cutter for this step. Since my pages have a light grid on them I was able to use scissors and keep it pretty straight. From there, I used the gorgeous map piece of vellum paper and cut it to fit the size of the page.

The last step was taking a bunch of the die cut stickers from the Summer Avenue Deluxe Journaling kit and finding an arrangement I liked. Then I peeled and stuck them down. I laid them all so part of their stickiness stuck off the page a bit, so when I flipped the page over to do the other side I added more stickers and tried to line it up. This is so the stickers hang off and give a more layered and textured look to the door. There were a few areas that were still pretty sticky, so I ripped really small pieces of washi tape and filled those areas in. And that's it! It was so simple and fun to make. I hope you feel inspired to try creating a dutch door in your next spread!
