Change up the look of your monthly calendar with some "decorative dating" inspired by one of our newest team members, Elizabeth!
Elizabeth here from @thejoyfulsjourn to share some ideas for decorating your monthly layouts with the Nordic Nights Collection! I may be in Texas, but I'm not passing up the opportunity for snow in my planner! But when it comes to a monthly layout, I want lots of room on the calendar pages for family activities and work commitments. This is where "decorative dating" and playing with the margins come in handy. You get all the decorating without the sacrifice of functional space!
Here, I used a mix of stickers and sticky notes from the Nordic Nights Stationery Kit and the Nordic Nights Stamp Subscription to create a whimsical winter land in my Archer and Olive planner.
Don't be afraid to move outside the box and think of alternative ways to use products! On the left margin, I glued down the Nordic Nights Stationery Kit sticky notes to create a hex pattern and added "stitching" for extra depth. I layered on top snowflake stamps and gold star stickers. I dabbed the 'New Year' stamp in black and blue ink to create a cool ombre effect.
I used the tab and 'goals' stamp to create a section at the bottom of the monthly layout for goals progress. There is a lot going on with this spread, but it's cohesive, and I have so much room to write out my plans for the month!
