December Memory Keeping Designer Recap | Stephanie Vandermissen

December Memory Keeping Designer Recap | Stephanie Vandermissen

Our Memory Keeping guest designer for the month of December was the very talented Stephanie Vandermissen! Stephanie did a fantastic job with our Cranberry Rose Pocket Memory Keeping kit and the Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping kit to document her memories for the month. Before we take a closer look at her creations, let's get to know Stephanie a little bit!

When is the best thing that's happened to you in the last year? Going to the sea with my family in the summer¬†! After the quarantine I needed some open space. How would you describe your life aesthetic? I would say colorful; when you look at my albums you can see that I‚Äôm using a lot of colors ! I use them all the time, it‚Äôs very me but everything is also organized and clean, not over the top like me. If you were in a circus, what would your job be? Not something at the front for sure¬†! I would take care of all the animals, feed them, love them ‚Ķ What does your ideal day look like? Going for a walk in the morning, some scrapbooking, trying a new recipe for lunch (and everybody liking it¬†!), some gardening in the afternoon, having my husband cooking dinner and read in the evening. Very simple joys. If your life were a song, what band/artist/composer would best capture it? In my head it‚Äôs like the Foo Fighters, my brain is always functioning at one hundred and speeding away from me ! It‚Äôs weird because outwardly I‚Äôm a very calm person. Where do you feel most at home? Near the sea¬†! My parents had a small holliday house there and I spent a lot of time at the beach ( kite, speed-sail, windsurf‚Ķ). I met my husband there. It‚Äôs like returning home everytime we go for hollidays. If your life were a novel, what would the title be? I read a LOT but I always have a hard time coming with titles, maybe something like The Scrapbooker¬†? Where have you traveled that stayed with you? L‚Äô Ile de R√©¬†! It was so beautiful, we will return soon. Share three of your bucket list items with us. Buy a house near the sea, going to Disney World, becoming a Grand-Mother. If you were a superhero, what would your name be and what superpower would you have? LOL this is a difficult question, I would love to have the gift of ubiquity, or having Hermione Granger‚Äôs Time Turner but a Superhero name for that ? NoTime Girl¬†?

Now, let's take a look at Stephanie's gorgeous creations. Stephanie created four projects for us this month.

Project 1: Project Life I loved using this beautiful "Cranberry Rose" Memory Keeping¬†Kit, it goes so well with my 2019 December photos. I went with traditional¬†colors and choose all the green, red and white cards from the kit and I like how it turned out. Everything is very festive and joyful.
Project 2: Project Life
I often use big photos on my PL, it keeps it to become to monotone and if you want I have a Tutorial video on my YouTube Channel on how I fuse my own pocket pages to adapt them to my needs Stephanie V. I kept this second spread in the same color scheme as the first one as it is still photos from December 2019 and I like to stay through the month with the same colors to keep things cohesive.
Project 3: Traveler's Notebook Spread
I wanted to use this beautiful red alpha sticker sheet and went with a big title. I paired it with a full page photo : a close up I took of an amazing Christmas tree decorated in reds and gold. I inked in black the wood veneer tree so it would show up more on my page and added some foam stars.
Project 4: Traveler's Notebook Spread
Here I wanted to stay in reds, black and white. Sometimes I like to limit myself to just three colors to keep things challenging and interesting and I love how it looks in the end !
