December Daily Mini Album Made Easy!
Hello, friends!
If you love documenting the daily holiday happenings but want to keep it simple, you will definitely want to keep reading for these great ideas!
Jennie McGarvey: December Daily Made Easy
Every year I want to create a mini album that encompasses the Christmas holiday. These are often called December Daily or December Documented. I typically just call it a Christmas mini-album, as I often start mine right around Thanksgiving and sometimes go through New Year's Day. I also don't do a page each day, I simply tell the stories or record the memories of the season as they happen.
To finish the mini book in this decade, which is important to me, I keep it simple. (Because honestly? I am not great at coming back to projects later.) Luckily, the limited-edition Christmas Kit and Let It Snow Collection are so cute that I do not need to do too much to make this mini-book a treasure. I pulled elements from the Christmas Kit, Let It Snow Modern Memory Keeping Kit, Let it Snow Planner Add On Kit, Let it Snow Stationery Kit, and Let It Snow Main Planner Kit. They each have different pieces that work well!
Vellum is such a fun addition to any mini album and I prefer to keep it, you guessed it, simple. It's so pretty on its own, there is no need to do anything to it. I did add a die-cut to the center, using foam adhesive squares to give it some dimension. However, I also used another page of vellum later in the mini-book but this time, I kept it plain so photos could be seen through it with nothing blocking it.
I love using the 3x4" cards from the Christmas Kit + Let It Snow Modern Memory Keeping Kit. The designs are SO cute and they also really shake up the overall album with their smaller size. Some of the cards are being used for journaling, but some are backed with photos that are the same size.
One new thing I did this year is to include adhesive tabs from the Let It Snow Main Planner Kit. I've not done this before but I LOVE the results. It provides fun texture and I'm also able to add tiny bits of extra information on the tabs. They are something I will do again in the future.
At this point, I'm not finished with this mini-album. However, I feel really happy with the progress I've made so far. I'll include more photos, journaling, and embellishments before the month is over.
