Customize It: The Daisy Fields Collection
Hello, friends! There are so many ways to customize all the elements of the Daisy Fields Collection! See how we customize Alpha Stickers and the Simple Dori in this post.

Natasha Pytlik: Customizing Alpha Stickers for DIY Patterns

I loved creating a customized background using alphas from the Daisy Fields Collection. In the past I used rub-on alphas from Treetop Canopy collection in a similar project and then more recently Cactus Moon using puffy alphas to repeat this design structure. My secret to building backgrounds is flipping the letters in different orientations so your eye is noticing the movement of the pattern, not trying to see what words you can create. I did want to create more of a tone on tone look this time, so I selected the mustard colored paper from the Daisy Fields Traveler‚Äôs Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and paired it with the die cut adhesive alphas Daisy Field Classified: Memory Keeping Kit. After I filled the sheet with my alphas I trimmed it down into strips with some other patterned papers from the Daisy Fields Collection. I adore all of the texture and warm colors from all of the patterned papers I selected. If you have left over alphas or just starting to jump into the Daisy Fields Collection, I recommend customizing the collection‚Äôs alphas by building a background for your memory keeping layouts. Cutting them into strips or shapes like I‚Äôve shared with you today is a great way to ease into this look!

Rachel Newman: Three Ways to Customize the Simple Dori

The Simple Dori was designed for customization! It is a little notebook filled with a few pattern papers, quotes and several blank pages to use a you please! For the Daisy Fields Simple Dori, I customized the insert three ways. First, I changed the size of the insert to be closer in size to the Hobonichi Weeks. This allows me the option of keeping my journal with my planner, all in the same cover.   My second customization involved the cover using the Daisy Field Classified: Memory Keeping Kit¬†and the Daisy Fields Traveler‚Äôs Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. I trimmed strips of papers to cover the front and used a large piece of pattern paper to cover the back. Next, I used the large Alphas to spell out ‚ÄúJournal‚Äù and finished the cover with an embellishment cluster in the top left corner. My third and final customization involved predecorating a few pages inside the insert. I like using every page of the insert, including the pattern pages, so I like to add a journal card on these pages. Having a few pages predecorated encourages me to use the journal more frequently avoiding blank page anxiety. It is so easy to include a few journal cards with their great quotes, journal prompts, and beatiful illustrations to fill a page and keep me inspired.
