Hello, friends!
The Cocoa Daisy Collections can be pulled out of the cheery box they arrive at your door in and Immediately put to use! That said, it is fun to make the kit items all your own. Today, we are discussing ways to spruce up and alter items from the Koi Pond Collection, with a focus on journal cards from both the Koi Pond Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and the Koi Pond Modern Memory Keeping Kit.
Natasha shares how to make the traveler's notebook size journal cards a work of art!
One of my favorite ways to customize my Cocoa Daisy Memory Keeping products is by adding some simple mixed media to my layout. To start, I am using one of the large journal cards from the Koi Pond Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit as the base of my layout.
Using some black liquid acrylic paint, I drag the paint in various directions across the card with an old gift card versus a brush.
Just a small bit of paint goes a long way. Once this dries I continue to customize my journal card by adding stamping details using Distress Oxide inks and the stamp set from theKoi Pond Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit paired with some stickers from the Koi Pond collection.
Even if adding paint is a bit too messy for your personal style, try adding repeat stamping in a variety of colors. Don't be shy to give it a go, this is an easy but impactful way to customize your projects!
Don't do pocket page memory keeping? No problem! As Traci demonstrates, you can still get plenty of use out of them!
Because I don't pocket scrap, I love taking the beautiful journal cards from the Koi Pond Modern Memory Keeping Kit and turning them into something else so that I don't have 20+ 3x4s at the end of the month.
First, I choose the side of the journal card I want to focus on, then I pair it with another journal card (perhaps a patterned card or solid-colored card) to layer it. I may keep the 3x4 size or I may turn it into something else like a tag or banner depending on the size or my mood.
Then, I embellish them further with die cuts, stickers, and rub-ons from the Koi Pond Collection! This cuts down the number of cards waiting to be used in my stash, uses up my product in a fun way, AND makes it easy down the line to scrapbook and get that customized look!
