Classified Notes
Happy Wednesday! On the blog today we are highlighting the Noted memory keeping classified kit. Our design team members, Ellie and Iris, have created several traditional layouts to share with you. Let’s begin with a lovely 12x12 mixed media design by Iris. “The large labels in the Classified Kit were the spark for this layout documenting my goals and intentions for 2020. In my design, I envisioned how thoughts swirl around in my head. I wanted to capture that feeling with a lot of ephemera, but also give them an anchor so they don't look like they are thrown on the page. I decided on a messy circular stitching design.“ “Love all the blues and greens in this kit, and I chose to enhance them with a mixed media background. I matched the shades, but went a bit darker. The contrast helps all the ephemera pop, and so does the navy blue thread I used for stitching the background cut file, which is from my Etsy shop.” “I journaled goals on the labels, then placed them on either side of the photo. In addition to the Pretty Little Studio ephemera from the kit, I added custom One Little Word die cuts - also from my shop - to personalize my page.” “Because the stitching and mixed media gives the background structure, you really can’t go wrong in placing all the little bits around. But, it’s good design to have clusters, and to layer and nestle stickers and die cuts. All things I kept in mind as I went to town decorating. I scattered the glittery enamel dots from the Pocket Kit to fill in spaces, and also in the clusters for interest. Pushpin stickers from the Memory Keeping Sticker Kit were great for “pinning” a couple of die cuts to the background. I also popped up the title on foam for more dimension and so that it can stand out.” “This is a really fun design that is great for stash busting and when you have many great pieces you want to include on your page.” There is so much inspiration In Iris’s layout and great design tips too. Next we have two sweet stories documented by Ellie. “One of the challenges I am have given myself is to scrapbook some of my family memories in our family memory album. This year I will be using a 9x12 album for my story layouts. I am sharing two designs using our classified goodies to create these simple and easy pages. The first layout documents my daughters enjoying the first snow of the year.” “The second layout tells the story of my youngest loosing a tooth that she had been trying to get out for almost 2 months!” “Documenting the little stories is so fun and a great way to use your classified kit components.“ Ellie’s family stories will be a treasure for her children in all the years to come. Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to share your classified ideas with us in the Memory Keeping Facebook group. XO, ~Robin
