Hey, Hey! Traci here and today I’m scrapping Valentine’s Day with the Wonderland Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and Wonderland Modern Memory Keeper Kit! This layout isn’t about romantic love but rather a heartfelt nod to my 15-year-old ride-or-die pupper, Abby. Titled "Queen of my Heart," this layout channels the whimsy of Wonderland's "Queen of Hearts" theme, creating a punny connection that seamlessly weaves through the Wonderland kits' playful iconography.
To craft a love-infused design, the stickers and die cuts included in the Wonderland Modern Memory Keeper Kit & Wonderland Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit, as well as the Wonderland Memory Keeping Sticker Kit and Wonderland Stationary Kit all take center stage, forming a heart shape anchored by two photos of Abby and me. A blend of whimsical elements – hearts, florals, and Wonderland characters – reinforces the queen of hearts theme and the unique love shared between a dog and her human, reframing Valentine's Day as a celebration of this unconditional bond.
As far as the creative process, I began by matting two 3x3 photos on patterned journal cards, anchoring them at the layout's base. The heart took shape organically, rising from the bottom with stickers and die cuts, meeting at the layout's midpoint. I especially love the way the White Rabbit is “heralding” the labels I will use for my journaling.
Washi tape anchors the photos at the top, and a dual-alpha title spans the tops of both photos to bring both sides of the page together. To ground it all, I inked the edges of both pages, giving the layout a cohesive finish.
In the end, "Queen of my Heart" isn't just a layout – it's a heartfelt keepsake, capturing the essence of the love I share with Abby, my loyal companion for nearly my entire adult life. This piece transcends traditional Valentine's Day boundaries, immortalizing a cherished connection that deserves its special place in the heart of my scrapbook.
