Build a Background with the Sun-Drenched Creative Kit
Hello, friends!
Go ahead and build your own background for your memory-keeping spreads with the Sun-Drenched Creative Kit. Let's first take a look at the inspiration for this background.
Rachel Newman: DIY Background with Creative Kit
I'm a the first to admit that I'm not much of a mixed media enthusiast but I LOVE supplies that do the work for me. The Sun-Drenched Creative Kit came with a stencil and stamp set that, when combined, make for some very cool DIY elements. I created the based of this layout using these tools items and I could be more pleased! Fun fact: I did this entire spread when I was out of town, too! You only need a few supplies to make it happen!
To start, you'll need a few ink colors, some daubers ( a way to spread the ink under the stencil) and stamp block big enough for the large floral elements. To build the flower with the stencil, ink largest to smallest and lightest to darkest with the ink colors. I did the opposite with the floral outline stamp, which I stamped with black ink and then loosely free hand filled in with ink. To add further interest around the page, I used the ink splatter stamp in light and dark ink colors.
My process was similar on the right page, which I pulled from the Sun-Drenched Simple Notebook and trimmed to fit in my personal size planner. I also included a rub-on transfers and stickers from the Sun-Drenched Creative Kit. I love the opportunity this kit provides for creative play and experimenting!
