And Now Featuring… All the Fabulous Florals!
Hello, friends! Have you seen all the funky florals in the Doodles & Dashes Collection? Not only were they featured on the pattern papers, pocket cards, rub-on‚Äôs and stickers, but there was also an exclusive floral stamp set, too! It‚Äôs hard to go wrong with florals, and our Creative Team totally agrees! Today they share ways to embellish with florals in their planners and on memory-keeping layouts. Jennie shares a rare "before the pen" to highlight her use of the florals stamp in this spread. "I don't often share a before-the-pen layout. However, it seemed important to me to share with you the beginning of my memory planner process, and it starts right here! I'm obsessed with the Doodles & Dashes Collection, it's my personal favorite to date. I love the colors and the best part is the black and white contrast with those colors. The Doodles & Dashes Flower and Doodles Stamp Set will get a ton of use and I've started with this week in my planner. I kept the week to florals and wanted to add some watercolor, as well. It's so much fun to do and I love the way it looks after, as well! I use a regular old dye ink pad because I *want* the ink to run with the watercolor. I know that seems strange, but I love the way it looks when the ink and the watercolor run together, as you can see perfectly with the blue and green stamping. I will fill this week in and then it will guide the memory planner. I will use the events from this planner to transfer to the memory planner after I have added my photos and embellishing them. I cannot wait to see as this fills up!" This floral stamp is the perfect large embellishment to anchor April's gorgeous design. "I have had so much fun with the Doodles & Dashes Flower and Doodles Stamp Set. It layers beautifully with all the things. I have been playing with acrylic paints a lot lately and paired them with the floral stamp to create a mixed media background. I cut and distressed a piece of card stock to add a pop of color and design before adhering to the photo. Lastly, a frame added more dimension while cropping the photo perfectly. A few blingy dots and embellishments on the side and this page was done. I love the crisp, clean white space with all the layers focused on one part of the page."   We love how Belinda used the florals to embellish her walking journal. "I am just loving the Doodles & Dashes Collection this month and while I set up my Walking Journal I wanted to incorporate some Funky Flower Photo Frames to highlight the photo‚Äôs I took on a recent Beach & Lagoon Walk. For this project, I printed out my photos, some in black & white and some in color. I decided to fussy cut some of the beautiful flowers from the Doodles & Dashes Printables to decorate as photo frames. I bordered each photo with a dashed line then layered all the beautiful flowers and leaves onto the photos using a glue stick to adhere them into place. I added the finishing touches using the alpha stickers from the Doodles and Dashes Planner Add-On Kit¬†and the Doodles & Dashes Classic Sticker Kit for my Titles. I then added some of the Puffy Alphas and Die Cuts from the Doodles & Dashes Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit.¬† There is space to add a little story about my Beach Adventure as well." Audrey used the floral from this collection for a stunning accent on her 12x12 layout.¬†   "OH my, I absolutely love the florals in the Doodles & Dashes Collection. Aren't they just beautiful! The florals are the most perfect accent to this picture of little me. I started this masterpiece using a piece of watercolor paper from my stash. I cut an offset circle on my silhouette and then painted and splattered a tan color around the edges. Once it was dry, I backed the circle with one of the papers found in the Doodles & Dashes Planner Kit or Doodles & Dashes Classified: Memory Keeping Kit. Next comes the florals!! I used the floral die cuts, stickers and rub ons from all of the different memory-keeping kits and arranged them on the left side edge, away from the picture. I also added a sentiment sticker from the Doodles & Dashes Memory Keeping Sticker Kit on the bottom left to help tell my story. Lastly, I popped the picture of little me in with pop dots from my stash, and voila, an instant floral masterpiece. I am so looking forward to seeing how you all use florals!
