Linda Jordan: Altered Pocket Cards in Your Scrapbook Layouts
The Cozy Season Scrapbook Kit with the Cozy Season Pocket Cards Add-on is perfect for pocket pages, but I also love using it in traditional layouts. For this spread, I wanted to document a trip my family took to go apple picking for my daughter's album on a 9x12 layout. I pulled white cardstock from my stash + printed my photos so that I could stack them in a vertical strip on my spread.
I used some of the 6x8 papers in the Cozy Season Scrapbook Kit to create a base to help ground my photos + hold my title. I also used extra paper strips to add a border along the top of the page. I used some of the rub-ons in the Cozy Season Scrapbook Kit to create bases for embellishment clusters and added a chipboard tag to add some dimension.
I considered adding a 3x4 card from the Cozy Season Pocket Cards Add-on as a journaling spot but instead opted to let the photos + title tell the story. So, instead, I cropped the journaling space off the card and rounded the corners to create a fun embellishment to add along the bottom of my spread. I layered this on top of some of the washi from the kit to add more weight to the bottom of the page.
Overall, I was super happy with how this layout came together. The fun fall colors of the Cozy Season kit were perfect to highlight my images from this fun day in October 2020 when we went apple-picking. This spread will live in my daughter's childhood album, along with a few other ones I created using this collection. Super happy to have these stories told!
