Traci Reed: 12x12 Layout with the Chapters Scrapbooking Kit

I will admit, that scrapping simple layouts is not my forte. I LOVE to layer, layer, layer! So, being the glutton for punishment that I am, I decided to challenge myself to use very little embellishment and really focus on the gorgeous 12x12 papers in the Chapters Scrapbooking Kit. I wanted to see if I could create a layout with mainly paper that really let my story shine!

One of the ways that I added interest to this layout that consisted mainly of paper was through color repetition. The main colors I used were aqua, yellow and gray and by cutting hearts out of the aqua and yellow papers, I was able to create visual interest on the page without adding embellishments from the Chapters Scrapbooking Kit! The yellow messy stitching over the hearts and around the outside edges added that fun and unique touch to an otherwise very linear page as well.

Can you believe that I used just 6 stickers/diecuts/chipboard pieces on this page? ME?! Though I’m still going to be a cluster girl at heart (especially with the Cocoa Daisy collections that have such beautiful embellishments) I enjoyed stretching my muscles with this more simple page!
