Three to Please with Poppy Fields Collection

Tell me if this sounds familiar - you receive your kit, squeal with delight with all the wonderful items to papercraft with, and then...the dreaded "analysis paralysis"! Each month, we are presented with a variety of items to choose from, and sometimes, it can feel a bit overwhelming to know which items to select for a given design. When this happens, it's ok to have a "less is more" mentality. Today, we asked our Memory Keeping Team to select three products from the kit and challenge themselves to design a spread with just those items. This is a great exercise to spark creativity and become really familiar with a product like the stamp sets, or stickers.
Odessa stayed true to the challenge in her Poppy Fields Simple Dori, and we love what she came up with!
"I take these things seriously, so when I set out to make a layout using three things from the Memory Keeping Kits, I hide everything else and go all in!
I made this Traveler’s Notebook layout using three things from the Poppy Fields Collection: a big tag from the Poppy Field Classified: Memory Kit, the stamp set from the Poppy Fields Modern Memory Keeping Kit, and a sticker sheet from the Poppy Field Memory Keeping Sticker Kit. That sticker sheet is always a monthly fav, it has phrases, washi, numbers, and some circles all on one sheet.
Ok, so I decided that the background doesn’t count as an item. I used this 2-page spread from the Poppy Fields Simple Dori I just love that marble pattern so much. I can’t get enough of it! I stuck the giant tag down on the plain side of the page to get started. I had a bunch of tiny pics that I carefully sprinkled all over the page. One little square photo of my fam fit perfectly on the tag and then three long little photos were perfect on the other side of the page.
I used the stamp from the Modern Memory Keeping Kit to make a journaling spot under the photos. I added some stickers from the sucker sheet all around the stamping to create a journalling spot. Then I finished it up with some phrase stickers and washi stickers to complete the page. It’s simple, it uses only 3 embellishments plus photos and the background. The best part? It means more memories in my Simple Dori!" Odessa did an amazing job sticking to the challenge and creating a gorgeous layout. The torn washi sticker strips are a really nice touch, along with the stickers strategically placed around the spread. She was even able to get four photos on one spread.
Evy may have gone a little rogue on this challenge, but we don't mind. Check out her fantastic layout!
"The thing that makes me love Cocoa Daisy's memory-keeping kits the most is the variety. There are so many different things every month that choosing just 3 was a problem. In fact, I used a lot more ü§£ü§£ü§£!
As you already know, I have an obsession with the combination of stamps-alpha stickers. I created the title and caption in this way, also adding die cuts, small enamel dots, an arrow, and a few chipboard clouds.
For the right page, I included 3 photos, die cuts, and some chipboard pieces. To give some color I used washi between the background paper and the graph page of the Simple Dori. The writing on the die cuts was just perfect and I wanted to highlight it by adding the metal clip and thick double-sided tape. Finally, I added lines made with a ruler and felt-tip pen following the background squares.
The paper I used for the background is from the Poppy Field Classified: Memory Kit. I just love it. I really wanted to immortalize this very important moment in my TN!" If we consider enamel dots, chipboard pieces, and the die-cuts all stickers, technically, Evy only used three items: stickers, washi, and stamps! Either way, we absolutely love what she created in her Poppy Fields Simple Dori. Her title work is so neat with the stamps, puffy alphas, and chipboard pieces.

"With this month’s release, I knew that I wanted to create a project with a large title as my main focal point. Today’s theme was a great starting point as I grabbed the acrylic word piece “together” and the adhesive-backed alpha die-cuts, both from the Tranquility Classified: Memory Keeping Kit, as two of my three products to highlight. My final item was the adhesive-backed embellishments, which is a pretty broad category, from the Tranquility Planner Add on Kit and Tranquility Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit.
With the acrylic word piece and alphas, I spelled out my title and positioned it on my piece of patterned paper from the Tranquility Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. As a paper crafter, I so appreciate the thought that goes into beautiful and easy-to-use products. The adhesive back products make putting a layout together super easy!
I do recommend using Glossy Accents in adhering the acrylic piece down to the patterned paper. A little goes a long way and it sticks.
I found this challenge approachable and a great creative exercise to help guide me for the type of projects I have always wanted to try, like how I wanted to create a memory-keeping layout with a large title, but a little unsure on how to actually start and do it. Selecting a limited amount of items could be perceived as limiting but it challenges me to think the opposite. I hope you consider giving it a try on your next Memory Keeping project." Big titles like this are a great way to fill in large spaces on your layout and tell your story without the need for extensive journaling.
