The Memory Keeper's Obsession with Circles

The Memory Keeper's Obsession with Circles

Hello friends,

Here at Cocoa Daisy, many of us are obsessed with circles and there are good reasons for our fascination with this shape. Circles have a lot of symbolism associated with them including balance, wholeness, time, and the cosmic universe. The circle doesn't have any sharp angles which makes it a soft and harmonious shape that brings a sense of unity to a design. And simple geometric shapes like the circle are easy to make with basic scrapbooking supplies. DT member Casie has created a simple dori traveler's notebook layout with circles to share with us today. "I tend to gravitate to tried and true scrapbook layout designs. However, when I step out of that routine, I pleasantly surprise myself. This layout was a challenge that I happily accepted!" "I started with the idea of two sizes of circles using the pattern papers from the Flannel & Frost kit. From there, a circle shape on the page naturally flowed." "Adding in glitter dots and circle-shaped die cuts added more color and little words to the circle. I love the final results of this travelers notebook design." Casie's two-page layout in her traveler's notebook is lovely! Next I have a very simple design to share from my Autumn album. It's a thankful three pocket page using a new instax pocket page configuration. I don't have an instax camera but I love the idea of using the instax pocket page in my album. I wanted to use the chipboard numbers from the Flannel and Frost memory keeping kits and it took me a while to decide which set to use. The ones with the circle around the number make sense to me for this theme so they were the winner! My card stock and kit paper for my title are distressed around the edges to maintain the informal vibe in my album. I added some hand stitching in a circular pattern because I liked the representation of my gratitude flowing out into the world. https://youtu.be/e8La7fA_QPg I love the simplicity of this page! Show us your circles in our private facebook group or share with us on social media. Be sure to use the @cocoa_daisy tag so that we can see what you are making. Stay safe and well! ~Robin
