Hello, my planner friends, it's Julie here today to walk through my November planner set-up. I plan in an A5 ring binder and this month, I'm loving my Filofax Domino Luxe Teal. The color of it just matches the teal colors in the kit so wonderfully.
The only thing about my Filofax Domino that I don't love is the pocket configuration in the front. I like to decorate my front pocket and the Domino just has one diagonal pocket. So... since Cocoa Daisy was so kind as to put an extra set of the planner papers in the Classified: Memory Keeping kit this month, I used one of the folded papers to make my own decorative pocket set up. I trimmed the long edges of the paper away from the fold and slipped the folded piece of paper into the pocket of my planner and then cut and glued another smaller piece of the same paper on top to create a smaller vertical pocket. On top of the smaller pocket, I cut a window frame out of the same paper and a rectangle to create a small pocket at the top. I love how it turned out and that I could then decorate it with some of my favorites - foiled vellum papers, rub-ons, hexagons, and ribbon clips. I even pulled a pocket card from October because I just loved that it said, "It's fall y'all!"
I had such a great time creating dashboard dividers this month. One of my faves is the leaf shaker pictured below. I just adore the veneer wood leaves and "hello Autumn" piece. They add such nice texture and interest to the page. I was inspired to create this page because I had some of the leaf sequins from my October Flannel & Frost kit and this was a great way to use the little leaves in the sequin mix.
Another fun project this month was making paperclips from the chipboard stickers. With just a glue gun and a round piece of Cocoa Daisy paper on the back, I was able to make my side view shine. I just love the look of having lots of clips alongside my tabs.
One of my signature moves in my planner is to use cut files. I have a Silhouette Cameo and I love to use it to make pretties for my planner. And the Cocoa Daisy papers are so gorgeous that I love using them to make paper creations. I adapted a file that I found in the Silhouette Design store to create this adorable truck. Using the papers from Acorn Lane, Flannel & Frost (October 2020), and Memphis Season (November 2019), I made the truck and used the leftovers to hand-cut a few flags to coordinate at the top of the page.
One of the things that attracted me to Cocoa Daisy is that you can take the items from the kit and really personalize them in any way that you want to. And since you are starting with such beautiful designs and artwork, your finished planner can't help but be beautiful. I like to personalize my planner by choosing 4 spreads from the A5 Daisy Dori to use as my weekly spreads. I simply remove the staples from the Dori and cut down the center with an x-acto knife or with my paper trimmer. I like to get the foundation of my weekly spreads done before the month begins so that I can easily add to them in the coming weeks as additional events pop up. I also made a little pocket to hold the transparent dot stickers from the Sticker kit and some coordinating adhesive die cuts in case I want to use them on my weekly spread. To make the pocket, I took one of the gorgeous foiled vellum pocket cards from the Memory Keeping Pocket kit and folded it in half, and glued it together. I added a tab at the top for fun and a couple of acetate tabs with holes to the side to create a way to clip it into my planner. This was such a simple project and I love that I can move it from week to week.
I hope that you enjoyed this peek into my planner this month and if you would like to see more, please check out my planner set-up flip through video.
