Staycation Documented with the My Escape Collection

Staycation Documented with the My Escape Collection
Hello, friends! With travel limited for many for the last year, the "staycation" has definitely risen in popularity. Staying home and staying safe throughout 2020 and into 2021 doesn't mean giving up on making memories. In today's post, we are celebrating the staycation with the wonderful My Escape Collection. Audrey has made staycations a monthly tradition and is sharing how she documents her local adventures. "Do you staycation? My husband and I do it once a month. We call it our "date day" and do something targeted and special. The My Escape Collection is just perfect to document all our staycation memories! I started this 12x12 layout by tearing some of the papers from the My Escape Classified: Memory Keeping Kit and the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit and placing them on my layout. I then did a messy stitch with my sewing machine around the edges of the ripped paper. Next, I placed my photos down from our April 2021 monthly staycation which was to the Glass House in New Canaan, CT, popping some up with pop dots from my stash and gluing one directly down. I stamped the word "staycation" around and added some of the awesome rub-ons from the My Escape Modern Memory Keeping Kit on the page. I finished this layout with my title "Monthly Staycation" using the puffy stickers from the Modern Memory Keeping Kit and added my journaling in the round stickers found in the My Escape Memory Keeping Sticker Kit. I then ran some embellishments in different sizes, shapes, and dimensions down the page on the right side. This layout came together perfectly to celebrate our staycations. I can't wait to see how you all celebrate yours. Jill's vacation album has several awesome staycation spreads included, too. "I have started a new vacation album to get photos from earlier trips scrapbooked during this time when we are not traveling as much. But I wanted to include our staycations, too, and My Escape Collection is great for telling those stories. For this 12x12 layout, I created three collages of photos of what we did during our 2019 spring break staycation at my boyfriend's place. I matted the photos on papers from the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. I adhered the block to a fairly neutral background paper, and then numbered each photo with the handy little numbers in the My Escape Memory Keeping Sticker Kit. I pulled the alphabet stamps from the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit to begin my title with the year and then used a puffy script alpha stickers along with the staycation stamp from the Modern Memory Keeping Kit to create the rest of it, tucking small stickers under the title and adhering a rub-on flower at the bottom. I also added a map rub-on from the Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit along the left and the local getaway sentiment. After tearing the patterned paper a bit to reveal the navy blue on the back, I stitched along the top and the bottom of the page. My journaling references each numbered photo and directs the eye with puffy arrows included in both the My Escape Classified: Memory Keeping Kit. For finishing touches, I added a little more stamping and a sprinkle of glitter dots. After 2020, I imagine we all have some staycation memories to document--have fun getting them in the books with all the possibilities afforded by the My Escape Collection! We hope you are inspired to document memories made close to home. Share with us your staycation spreads by tagging @cocoa_daisy on social media or posting to the Cocoa Daisy Fan Page.
