Hello, Friends!
The Daily Journal Collection has some great foundational stamps that are great for building backgrounds and adding texture to your memory-keeping spreads.
Carol Weatherspoon: Stamping Fun for Memory-Keeping
I love stamping and the stamps in the Daily Journal Collectionare amazing! They exude mixed media and whether you like to get your hands inky or not, these stamps will make it so fun to add different designs and textures to your spread! Let's talk about this layout. On the left side, the patterned paper did a lot of the work, but on the right side, that's all me! (Of course with the exception of the title and polka dots along the bottom) I added a lot of stamping to the right side, but we'll get to that in just a moment.
For the left side, I added a few of the mixed media stamps which blended beautifully into this "Art is Chaos" background. I also added my journaling to this page. It's a tad difficult to read with all the goodness going on underneath the vellum, but that's exactly what I wanted. Now, let's talk about the right side, shall we?
I believe I used almost every stamp in the mixed media set along with a couple of the numbers and sentiments from the other two stamp sets offered this month. I call this "controlled chaos" because I believe that everything went where it needed to go to complement the left side of the spread.
I also used a stencil from my stash for the larger black polka dots as well as a few ink cubes. For the inking, I took my ink cubes and swiped them directly onto my paper. I love the look that it gives. I added a couple of rub-ons to my photo and that completed this spread. I hope this encourages you to use those stamps and to get inky with the Daily Journal Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit.
