It’s “Simple Dori Saturday” and we are sharing spreads featuring the Doodles & Dashes II Collection. The Simple Dori is the perfect format to document small stories and memorable moments. The Doodles & Dashes II Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit has the perfect elements for this month's photos. I prefer to memory plan with the current kit each month. It's been harder for me now that the kids are grown and not as appreciative of me taking their photos all the time! I've started documenting my days by what I do or love! November 17th is the perfect example as I look forward to red cup day at Starbucks every year. I snapped a quick photo with my phone while I was at the counter waiting for my drink.
I really wanted some color under the photo so I added a matching size of the yellow patterned paper with washi tape underneath - basically a tip-in! There are so many beautiful embellishments that it made it easy to layer them to add depth to the page. The bottom corner has a large die-cut sticker and a puffy flower.
I used the coral puffy letter stickers to create my title "red cup" followed by cardstock stickers in cream for "day." The floral die-cut sticker was enhanced with 3 enamel cots on the corner of the pocket card "November."
The upper corner of the "November" pocket card was layered on top of a leaf-patterned pocket card. I also layered 3 leaf die-cut stickers and a half-round sticker "living in the moment."

For the longest time I was intimidated by interactive elements within my projects but after I was able to break through the paper crafting mindset struggle… I’ve been in love!
For today’s project, I have two types of interactive elements. For the first interactive element, I used one of the library pocket cards that came in the Doodles & Dashes II Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. This was very simple to create and embellish. I adhered the library pocket card directly onto the clear pocket page protector to be able to access the card easily. Plus, I’m a pocket page rebel and like to have elements outside of the pocket.
The second type of interactive element I created is a mini book which I created by trimming down a few sheets from the Doodles & Dashes II Simple Dori and reinforced with a journal card in the back to be able to slide it directly into the pocket page protector.
To keep things cohesive I used some repeated elements throughout my two page layout as well as inside my interactive mini book. I used the washi tape from the Doodles & Dashes II Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit as well as many of the tiny word stickers from the Doodles & Dashes II Memory Keeping Sticker Kit. I love how using these repeated elements I’ve created a fun, interactive and cohesive two page layout to document my gratitude.

I have Instagram/TikTok to thank for the inspiration behind this memory. There was a viral video of House of the Dragon cast members Emma D’arcy and Olivia Cooke discussing their “drink of choice”. The exchange was so memorable that for days afterward I couldn’t stop saying “Oh, stunning!” I told my husband about it and he immediately went to work recreating this drink. It definitely was a memory I wanted to document!
To start, I trimmed two pages from the Simple Dori for my background. I love the dark orange tone from the drink and wanted to have that color in the opposite page, hence the bold floral pattern paper.
I knew what my title was going to be, but I needed a way to make it stand out from the background. I chose a pocket card as the base for the title and use the Bean Stalk Alpha Stamp to create my title. Since my title was right aligned, I stamped the words backwards, to ensure the spacing was correct.
Part of the viral video was Emma D’arcy sharing the ingredients for the drinks and I did that as bullet points with enamel dots. To fill in the white space I embellished with the puffy stickers, die cuts and rub-on’s.
I chose to include this large tag with typed journaling and make it interactive. To do so, I trimmed the bottom of one of the library card pocket so that the large tag (trimmed to fit inside) could slide up and down inside the pocket. Then I adhered the pocket to the back of the photo. I love the idea of a photo acting like a pocket!
I included a small label on the tag using an older stamp set and the box stamp from the Falling Into Sketches Class Bundle, stamped and trimmed from a piece of white cardstock, complete with enamel dots.
This spread was so fun and easy to put together, thanks to the Doodles & Dashes II Simple Dori and the Doodles & Dashes II Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. No story is too small or silly for this compact size!
