Pretty Pages with Pocket Cards
Hello, friends! Putting together memory-keeping spreads is a snap when you have pretty pocket cards to work with. With each collection, there is a variety of pocket cards to use for decoration, journaling, titles, and photo mats. While they are available as part of the Modern Memory Keeping Kit, you can also subscribe to the Pocket Cards Subscription,¬†to receive just the pocket cards in 3x4 and 4x6 sizes. As you will see, the pocket cards pack quite the punch! We are all about a little crafting hack, and are loving how Carol trimmed up her pocket cards in this spread! "Putting together this 9x12 pocket page spread was so fun.I don‚Äôt know about y‚Äôall, but I really love how documenting our memories gives us a chance to live them over again. Today I‚Äôm sharing in my video some of the steps I took to pull this layout together using elements from the Poppy Fields Modern Memory Keeping Kit and Poppy Fields Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit." Carol made these pocket cards all her own by trimming them to 2x2 size, adding watercolor, and including embellishments to highlight the details of her documented memories. We especially like how she used the "Documented: this or that" Card ( a standard pocket card in each collection) to create a list of sounds heard on their hike.¬†   Odessa shares some fun ideas for utilizing pocket cards in her pocket page spread. Pocket pages will always be my favourite form of Memory Keeping and I just love using the Cocoa Daisy Modern Memory Keeping Kit, especially the Pocket Cards! They have a similar vibe throughout the year while changing up the style to match each month‚Äôs kit which gives my album a really consistent vibe while moving through the weeks. This month the Poppy Fields Collection is so cute and I especially love all the soft blues which you can see featured here. I really like cards like this "Noted" one. It‚Äôs been a standard card in the Modern Memory Keeping Kit lately with colours altered to match the kit. It‚Äôs perfect for summing up what‚Äôs in all the pockets in my protector. I used a mix of handwriting, phrase stickers, alpha stickers, and stamps to journal on it. I love the visual impact of mixing it up. I also love a good plain card to make my own. I used a pale blue pocket card with a simple pattern on it. I used the big letters from the Poppy Field Classified: Memory Keeping Kit with a few chipboard stickers to make my own pocket card to match my layout. Easy and cute! In each collection, there are several journal cards included as the one Odessa used. But who said you had to write on the journal card? We love how Odessa embellished her journaling with stickers and stamps. Aimee found ways to use the pocket cards in other memory-keeping formats and we are here for it! Pocket cards don‚Äôt always have to be for pockets! I love using pocket cards as layering elements on full-page scrapbook layouts. I am always looking for fun and fresh ways to use my kit cards. I like to find cards where I can flip the orientation, rip them up or even use them as titles for my page. On this particular layout, I looked for cards that fit my color scheme and layered them all up for a fun look. The ‚Äúweekend plans‚Äù 3x4 card was the perfect fit for this page about a weekend trip my husband and I took together. I chose to add a doily from my stash to enhance the retro feel from the coke bottle and I think it plays well with the cards Poppy Fields Pocket Cards Kit. I chose phrase stickers from the Poppy Fields Modern Memory Keeping Kit kit like ‚ÄúApril flowers‚Äù and ‚Äúshort trips‚Äù that really represent my photo and pulled in some depth. I added some repeat stamping using the Poppy Fields Modern Memory Keeping Kit stamp set for a grungy look and some enamel dots for sparkle. I finished things off with a thick washi tape border and some black acrylic paint splatters. I hope this inspired you to use your pocket cards in a new way as I did here. If you have an old stash of cards laying around I invite you to use them up and put them on a layout! Happy creating!" As Aimee reminds us, pocket cards are so versatile. You can change their orientation, use them as layering elements and use them for titles. We hope you are inspired to get out your pocket cards and start putting them, well, everywhere!
