Tai Cortes: Pocket Pages with Nordic Nights Scrapbooking Kit

Hello, my crafty friends! It's Tai, and I have a double-page layout using the Nordic Nights Scrapbooking Kit along with the Nordic Nights Pocket Card Add-on Kit. The colors in this collection are amazing, together with the beautiful tones of blues and grays. Most of the cards can be paired together to create a cohesive layout.

I selected a recent selfie photo of myself when I was working on my December Daily. It was a good hair day, so I had to take a photo. I edited my photo to be black and white because there were a lot of competing colors on my shirt. Turning your photo into black and white is an easy tip to have your photos work with any collection.

I created my own embellishments by cutting out free-hand wonky heart shapes. They were not meant to be perfect. I layered my wonky hearts with chipboard elements and die cuts from the Nordic Nights Scrapbooking Kit.

The pocket cards from the Nordic Nights Pocket Card Add-on Kit always provide a variety of journaling cards, sentiments, and illustrations. For this layout, I selected two journaling cards, one that was prompt-based and the other was open-ended. I usually do my journaling on clear sticker paper, but for this layout, I opted for my penmanship. It’s a good idea to have both in your albums. You may not love your handwriting, but it's great to include in your storytelling.

I tend to embellish my cards further with additional puffy stickers, rub-ons, stickers, and, in this case, silver ink splatters from Tim Holtz. The ink splatters have a shimmer to them in the light. It's a nice detail added to the layout. This project is going in my “All About Me” album that I started at the beginning of this year. It's been nice to have this project alongside my family storytelling. I hope you use your pocket cards to tell a story about yourself soon.
