Tai Cortes: Pocket Page Scrapbooking with October Glow Kits

Hello crafty friends! It’s Tai, and I have a double-page layout in my 6x8 album featuring the October Glow Pocket Cards. These pocket cards are always one of my favorites because the collection is amazing. There is a great mix of sentiment cards, patterned cards, and plenty with room to journal on. Along with the cards, I am also using elements from the October Glow Scrapbooking Kit. This kit includes all the additional embellishments and papers needed for more memory keeping. For this project, the first cards selected were the bold ‘October’ card and the long quote card, both in 4x6. These two cards could have also been placed with a large full-page photo.

Instead, I used the page protector that holds 4 3x4 cards. In my formula, 1 sentiment card, 1 patterned card, and 1 journal card, I needed a journal card for the right side of my layout. There were so many options for journaling cards; many could have gone since everything coordinates. I then scrolled my phone’s camera roll and remembered I snapped photos while on a trip to Colorado for a scrapbooking retreat. I live in Florida, so I never get true fall photos, but in CO I definitely had a coat on, changing leaves, and beautiful bronze statues of animals. These selfies were taken with these amazing statues along a sidewalk.

Each photo was printed in a 3x4 size, and I selected 3 different ones for my layout. The rub-ons in the October Glow Scrapbooking Kit do work well on photo paper. Do not be afraid to try them on your photos. I also embellished the photos with chipboard elements, stickers, and Washi. All to add a little detail to each one and tie those photos into the layout. The project is definitely giving a fall vibe, and I am loving it.
