Hello, friends!
We are doing another edition of "Pick Three" where the Creative Team picks three elements as the focus of their design. Let's see what they chose, and the spreads they created.
Amy was inspired by the February Challenge Prompts for this "Throwback Thursday" layout.
"I’m sharing a 6x8 scrapbook layout I made for my “Pick Three” project. Selecting just three items proved to be challenging this month with all the beautiful products in the Elegance Blooms collection. To help with the decision-making, I referred to Cocoa Daisy’s February Planner Challenge. The challenges always serve as a good source of inspiration for me. This month "Throwback Thursday" was calling my name! Throwback Thursday inspired me to create a layout for an album I started working on a few years ago that has all the fun monthly photos I used to have taken of my two boys when they were babies/toddlers. I went all the way back to 2007 and pulled out a Valentine photo to use for this project.
Once I decided on my project, I was finally able to “Pick Three” products – paper found in both the Elegance Blooms Modern Memory Keeping Kit, the stamp set from the Elegance Blooms Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit, and chipboard from the Elegance Blooms Modern Memory Keeping Kit.
To stay consistent with the pages in the album, I used a kraft cardstock base for this layout. I wanted to keep the background subtle, so for my first product, I selected the light pink ledger paper found in both the Elegance Blooms Modern Memory Keeping Kit. I traced and cut a heart out of the patterned paper and inked up the edges with Vintage Photo Disress Ink to add to as the main layer for this layout.
The second product I used was the stamp set included in the Elegance Blooms Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. I think this stamp set is adorable! I love the five rows of little hearts, the script “love”, and the tag is perfect for all sorts of projects! I got started by pulling out my black VersaFine ink pad. Although I was trying to keep things neutral, I wanted to add a little something more without adding more. I then pulled out my VersaMark stamp pad. Although I see most people using the VersaMark pad for heat embossing, another great feature of this ink pad is how it creates a subtle tone-on-tone or watermark effect when stamped on plain colored cardstock – or plain kraft cardstock in my case. I think it turned out to be the perfect little extra something for this project.
Once I stamped all my images, I adhered the pink ledger heart to the page. I added some foam to the back of my photo to create a little dimension and placed it on my layout. I then grabbed a scrap piece of the pink ledger paper and used the reverse side to stamp the tag. I stamped the date, cut out the tag, added some ribbon I had in my stash, and tucked it behind my photo.
For my third product, I selected two hearts and the “remember this” chipboard from the Elegance Blooms Modern Memory Keeping Kit and placed them on my layout. To finish up my project, I used a black Zebra Clickart Marker to outline the border of this layout. Check out my Instagram Reels to see this page come together!"
Natasha went a slightly different direction with this challenge and we love it!
"For today’s Pick 3 Challenge, I have gone in a more abstract direction by selecting three themes/ repeated design elements versus three specific products. I used these items to customize my February divider in my Daisy Planner which I use as my Memory Planner. I customized several of my monthly dividers last year in my Daisy Planner and really enjoyed doing so.
For today’s Pick 3 recipe, I have selected 1.) Light Blue Alphas 2.) The color pink 3.) hearts. For categories two and three, I selected items that played off of the journal card from the Elegance Blooms Traveler's Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. I loved the watercolor hearts at the top of the design and that was the main inspiration when selecting my supplies for this project. When you have a main point of inspiration it helps in the ease of picking supplies that coordinate with that item versus having free reign to the entire collection. Reducing the amount of choice always helps!
I hope you enjoyed seeing how to participate in this challenge in a more abstract way and that this provides you with some inspiration the next time you sit down to craft!"
Veronica has started crafting with the Cactus Moon Collection inside her memory planner.
"Hello! Veronica here! Today I am sharing 3 of my favorite embellishments from the Cactus Moon Modern Memory Keeping Kit. Memory planning is an amazing way to use up all your little embellishments! Here I used 3 different types: clear triangles, foam words, and chipboard pieces.
I love to layer them on photos or pattern paper or just let them shine all alone. They are perfect for filling up little spots on your page. Have a crafty day!"
