Permission to Hack It! Turning the Weeks Notebook into a Discbound Journal
Hello, friends!
One of my favorite things about the Cocoa Daisy Notebooks is the ability to take them apart, rearrange the pages, or change the format completely! In case you needed it, here is your reminder that you have permission to make your inserts and notebooks work for you!

I have really enjoyed planning in a mini discbound planner for a few months now, and decided it would be fun to switch up my journaling practice to make my planner size. The only problem? I don't receive a Where the Breeze Begins Insert that is exactly this size (4.65x7 inches). But I do receive the Where the Breeze Begins Weeks Notebook, and with a little creative hacking, it could work beautifully!

The first step was to remove the staples from the Where the Breeze Begins Weeks Notebook and trim the colorblock pages (which I use for my wins and glimmers journaling) to the size I needed, roughly 4.65 x 7. This meant trimming a little off the top and bottom and trimming into the other side of the page. You can see above that there is now a little bit of the graph page on the color block side.

To reinforce the page (where the crease was), I grabbed the paper pad from Where the Breeze Begins Creative Kit and adhered the papers along the new "spine" of the discbound pages.

I love seeing the pop of color and design in the middle of the spread. It also makes each week unique, with a new pattern paper and embellishment. On the spread, I included a few die cuts from the Where the Breeze Begins Creative Kit along the pattern paper border.

The design was my favorite! I fussy cut the floral elements from the paper in the Where the Breeze Begins Creative Kit, creating a more dynamic design along the spine.

When you are in the creative flow, you might as well keep creating! To finish this setup, I filled a clear pocket page with scrap papers and embellishments from this setup. It's such a whimsical addition and will make a wonderful bookmark, too!
